Projected worth: ?
Too hard to buy one and get profit now. So expensive. Used to be like 5 mil. Due to its popularity and maker (dakota lul) price quadrupled.

Monster Costume: 5- 8 mil *. Saw one for 5 mil before but I guess it was a quicksale. Seems hard to sell because not cute

A lot of them due to chibs au, so might be hard to sell

Skater Costume: 2 mil *
Projected worth: ? (seems unpopular)

Sleepy Costume: 14 mil according to values guide but 25 mil for the only one in trades lol.
Projected worth: ? may see rerelease so risky to buy one of these

Snowman Costume: 1.5 mil
Projected worth:? Lots of pet colors but no chibs. Idk why this costume is so unpopular lol

Spacefairy Costume: 2 mil
Projected worth:? seems unpopular

Splatter Costume: 12 mil
Projected worth: ? may see rerelease

Spring Costume: 16-24 (only one in trades is 24) mil though I have seen people sell at 16. This freaking costume is so damn popular. I wish I could invest in it now, but remember that the base value is too high right now. It will be unlikely to be rereleased since it is still recent, but damn. Better than minipet cossie in terms of value going up.
Projected worth: ?

Steampunk Costume: 2 mil
Projected worth: ?
I don't think this will take off much, but we'll see.

Summer Costume: 5 mil
Projected worth: ? sleeper op? idk. no chibs cossie makes me doubtful

Projected worth: ? Kinda popular. No chibs though

Tundra Costume: 8-10 mil last time I saw one. Idk prices I see now seem higher than usual...

Winter Costume: 3 mil *
Projected worth:? Idk these don't seem popular since no chibs or deca can wear them, but we'll see.

Grave Robber's Whistle : 35 mil

Stardust: 5mil

Irish Waves Wig: 4-5 mil

Currency Ratios

AU: Generally 1 mil except when something popular is released which turns into 1.1 mil. At very bad selling times, AU can go for 950k and sometimes even 900k.

RP: 1:7 ratio or 1:6 ratio discounted. Buy a lot of rp during Leprechaun and sell it later for muchos mps.

BP: 1:2 ratio still

Dukka Coins: 1 dukka for 8k mp each if you can buy those 100 dukkas for 800k in wanted ads. Otherwise, expect to pay 10k per dukka usually.

Gourmet foods, wardrobes(definitely should have bought quell au clothing items grrrr), trading cards, costumes, or le makers. Let's see which one has the best ratio by 2024!

Not preparing crystals or diamonds before a major event that has challenges that require gym or elite gym training to complete!
Not buying scholarships when their value is down from quests such as from the scout challenges!
Tapping into a retired supply too much such as fire cossie without considering that later on it may run out!
Not hoarding certain retired items like enchanted deca plushies! Relevant to the previous sentence.
Not realizing that after an event, more people leave and thus everything becomes harder to buy and sell.
Trading for any unpopular species without asking others' opinions.
Not considering overoffer or price matching on wanted ads when people get desperate. Use mm preferably to avoid this! I still love wanted ads though. Smile
People get greedy, so they will definitely ask for more than what you're putting up!
Just before an au upgrade ends, people will get desperate to get le makers! Chibs maker rose by 2 mil! It's crazy. Definitely need to hoard those and not just rely on selling each for 12 mil for minimal profit
People always say they are a crappy restocker, just to fool you into thinking they are slower than they really are. Tongue Out

It is in one of your trade lots.
You offered it in a trade lot
It is in your shop (especially annoying for ub items)

Pet Trading Tips
8 years, 10 months & 20 days ago
27th Jun 2016 11:13

I have only just started pet trading recently over the past few weeks, but I think in general there are some tips and trends that people ought to know! As always, feel free to critique or comment on my blog below.
WARNING: VERY LONG

Terms to know for new players:
cossie/cossied = costumes or colors that pets can wear which change how they look
v/c/r/w = very common real word
v/c/r/n = very common real name
To help people understand what people are looking for, I provided some examples!
Examples for words from very common, common, to least common:
Love,Magnolia, Serendipity
Examples for names from very common, common, to least common:
John, Zachary, Alec
nft = not for trade
rsvd = reserved. someone already offered on that trade before you did.
PPP = poison pit protection. Usually means pets are not for trade
le = limited edition pet such as Chibs
mil = million mps.
non-le = non-limited edition pet such as Xoi
au = account upgrades. A way to obtain an LE pet by using au.
makers = way of producing a particular species by using an enchanted plushie or potion.
statted = pets with stats from either gym or elite. usually, people will care more about gym than elite stats.
learnies = items like books,cds,instruments
gourmets = items like food above rarity 10 that can be very expensive.
low-les= pets like Zoosh or Zoink whose makers cost around 500k-1 mil.
mid-les= pets like Quell or Chibs whose makers vary from 8-12 mil. Pets like Mordos and Dakotas are between the low and mid-le price range.
high-les = expensive pets like Decadals or Raulfs whose makers are 20-25 mil. The most expensive is Rofling because its maker costs around 100 mil.
End of list

General tips when trading:

Pet values are NOT cumulative. Don't expect to offer a pet with "more" calculated value and get the pet you want
A lot of species have what I like to call "star" power because they are more popular than others. A good example of this sort of pet is the chibs. Although a chibs maker is only worth 12 mil, many people will typically overoffer with other species in order to get a chibs because of how popular they are. Just understand that due to this reason, you have to consider what is popular instead of what is really valuable because popularity will inflate a pet's value by a considerable margin.

Know when to be flexible with offers

Generally speaking, if you ask for a specific species or/and pet color, you will find difficulty in trading for that particular pet if the people with that pet don't want to trade with you. If you have no offers in a week, it's likely that you need to be more flexible about what you're asking for in the pet trade caption. Also, asking for a specific pet will deter some bad offers, but that also means you may miss the occasional good offer. Smile

Know when you are too attached to your pet

Sometimes the real reason you are not getting the pet you want is because you value your pet too highly. This happens to many people. They say that they are trading, but in reality they expect a huge over-offer that may never happen. Recognize the real value of your pet by asking people around you. That way you won't be discouraged if people actually offer less than what you'd expect.

Most offers on your trade will be bad offers. Get used to it. Just move on and PLEASE respond politely even to under-offers. Ignore users who start to get vicious

We were all new players before. When I first started playing, I hoped that every time when I offered my minipet Vixen for a Rofling that they'd accept. Of course they didn't though, and now as a Rofling owner myself I understand why. It takes a lot of effort and money to get the pets that you have right now,and a lot of people can't see that on the surface. Forgiving users for a bad offer by saying no thank you and moving on quickly will lessen the pain on both sides. Correcting them isn't necessary because normally their offers are just full of hope. No one usually likes being corrected. Sad

Try to maramail or maratalk the pet owners instead of just randomly offering

Rejection feels bad, but it feels better to be rejected politely in person. Seeing the alert sign that your pet offer got rejected is one of the worst feelings that you can experience while pet trading. To avoid feeling this way, simply talk to the person trading and see if they can negotiate. Some of them are nice and will generally respond in a few minutes. You can also negotiate with them if they are interested in any other pets that you didn't think they'd be interested in. However, if they don't respond at all, then you might as well offer and wait the next day.

Post in forums whenever you are trading.
The caption box for trading is extremely limited in conveying what you actually want, so forums is a good way to advertise your pet properly! Ask for boosts to bring your topic up, and make sure to thank others who wish you good luck. Doing so will also boost your topic for other users to see!

Make sure your mindset is perfectly calm and be patient before you accept an offer!

If you accept an offer in the heat of the moment, you might regret it later. Don't be afraid to ask other people on forums for help on evaluating the offer, and make sure to be patient! Not all people are on 24/7, so people who may be interested in your pets may be offline.

General trends:

Names are extremely important

A good named pet can sometimes even trade up to a higher species. All it really takes is a little bit of creativity. When costuming a pet, try to think of a cossie that matches their name. For example, Lovio reminds you of love right? Therefore, a pet like that should be cossied valentine! If you're still not convinced about the power of names, a vert common real name today generally trades for a 2-3 Roflings... People value names that much!

Tips to creating a good name for trading. The good pet names I will use in my examples are those I have previously traded before. The bad ones are made-up to avoid insulting owners who have pets of the same name.

Most of the good names out there have already been taken. The only other r/w names out there are names that are either very obscure or don't make good pet names like adverbs. You may be able to find one, but it will take a lot of dictionary or internet browsing. That is why it may be better for you to create a name of your very own! Here are two qualities that good names usually have:

Pleasant to the eyes

A good name is a name that doesn't look too foreign or has strange underscores and numbers. People generally will want a name that has one uppercase letter and the rest all lower case.
Gin_Irochi77 is an example of a name you don't want because there are underscores and numbers.
A name like Eliizabeth has a misspelling that sticks out like a sore thumb.
A name like Glada though looks more friendly and recognizable because it is only composed with letters.

Easy to pronounce

A good name needs to look good, but it also has to sound good, so that if other traders read the name they won't stumble on its pronunciation or length. Sazoroly looks decent on paper for example, but it is a bit long and the z in the name is not pleasant to pronounce.
Keep these qualities in mind if you want to make a name that is good for trading!
Also, if it is a real word pet, usually people want a name that fits the pet, just remember that! Something like barrel for example would be less valued than a name like dog for a Rusty!

The Cossie of a pet often matters a lot less than the species until you reach the more expensive species. Also, cossie and maker are not counted separately if they are together
Cossie is generally irrelevant at lower to mid class species such as Zoosh and Zoink because their makers are cheap, and generally people will want to portal them. Cossie only starts to matter when you reach the mid and high les like Chibs and Raulf because less people will take risks with them. Species is so important in fact that you will generally see people using over-offers if you take account both species and cosssie value on species such as Roflings and Decadals.
Cossie and maker are calculated together if it is available. Sleepy Kujo is a good example because even though the cossie is worth 14 mil+, the sleepy kujo maker itself is worth a measly 8 mil in trades as of now. It's sad to see the le maker become more cheaper than the actual cossie, but it is known to happen.

There are expensive cossies, but there are also popular cossies which have a better chance of getting good offers. A cossie can be expensive but not popular.
Love lorius is a good example of a cossie that is very expensive but is not popular. People like cossies such as baby, chibi, and minipet. Simple recolors are generally not as well received as other cossies. Keep this in mind if you are trading a pet with an expensive but unpopular cossie. You will generally NOT trade for its value.

Stats are usually better on non-les than high-les
The reason is simple. Statted nonles are more flexible than Statted les. People sometimes want to sell stats in pet auctions. You can't sell an le in pet auctions. An le with stats is troublesome because players have to take in its maker cost AND stat value. Some people may not even care about stats, so it can be a bit harder to trade for the same value.

It is often more difficult to downsize than upsize because of limited pet spaces
This is self-explanatory. Not everyone has room to accommodate four extra pets for one unless they already have many Extra Pet Giftboxes(EPGCool Make sure to check how much spaces a user has before offering. Otherwise, you will face inevitable rejection. If they have a few non-les though, a good way to avoid the pet limit restriction is to ask if they could trade them to you along with the pet you're interested in. If the owner only cares about his les, then he may be able to trade them to you.

Skip this part if uninterested in high le trading. I consider high le to be: Justin, Raulf, Zola, Decadal, Basil, or Rofling. Will mostly be talking about Rofling and Recadals in this section because I have traded them personally.

Roflings are definitely the most expensive species, but the real species that dominate the most in pet trades are the high les such as the Decadal and Raulf because it is easier to get overoffers on them due to their lower but still relatively high trading value

Let me explain. This will take a while. Roflings are generally priced at 100 mil to create. The temple does not really count because even though you will generally spend 45-50 mil on hieroglyphics, the time it takes to search for the hieroglyphics and the two day delay after each level makes it very difficult to finish. I personally bought a Transmogrification giftbox that reduces the temple time in half, but other people will need at least two months in order to reach the end.
Since Roflings are so expensive to create, you will see nice offers on them, but are they really worth "double" their value? I know of two Roflings which were traded recently for 3 Decadals and a mid-le. I also have personally traded my 3 Decadals for a Rofling, and they weren't particularly high-cossied. What does this mean?

First of all, it shows Decadals have a higher price to trading ratio to Rofling. 3 Decadal makers are 75 mil while one Rofling maker is 100 mil. As you can see, the math doesn't quite match. Nowadays it is harder to have a decent offer on a Rofling considering their ridiculous true value than it is to over-offer on another high-le like the Decadal. This is why I personally think that Decadals are the best species to trade. They have access to many cossies to appeal to all users, and they have a huge safety net that protects their value. A Decadal account upgrade will not be released again until July 2024. The situation is similar to the Raulf which will not be released again until May 2017. However, Raulfs certainly do not have the same value as Decadals because the account upgrades for them will be re-released sooner and consequently drop their value. Don't worry though! The value of Raulfs is still very strong. It is just that Decadals are more popular and valued more. Basils trade for a high value too, but they are relatively rare which limits their influence on the market, and their maker is even more expensive than the Decadals'.

TLDR; Roflings have less trading value than they used to. Decadals are ruling pet trades at the moment for two reasons: They won't be released until a few more years which protects their value, and it is easier for an average player to offer on a Decadal than it is to over-offer for a Rofling because of the significant difference in value.

End of high le discussion

Non-les. In this section, I will talk about what gives a non-le value

Name
As mentioned before, people are willing to offer Roflings for common real names. However, there are a couple of well-off players who will trade les just for a name that looks very nice. These people are actually rarer than you'd think though. Mostly everyone is actually looking for common real names or words that they can recognize, so just keep that in mind when offering a well-named non-le for a le!

Gourmets and learnies
The people who own these pets will generally value them more than other people do because they know how much time and mp they invested on their pets which is not as easy-to-see as stats.
It requires users to look up the gourmets, books, etc personally in order to determine the pet's true value. Also, some users may be interested in getting the rewards for the gourmets or learnies themselves. Therefore, is usually difficult to trade these pets for their right value, remember to keep that in mind if you are having trouble trading this type of pet.

Stats
Stats are usually how non-les get traded for other les. There are generally two ways to determine if a statted pet is good for trading/

Quantity of stats
Stats that are generally lower than 100 will be ignored by other users. It is just the truth. The battle arena is a vicious place, so if you do not have a statted pet higher than 100 it will usually get mauled by most of the high difficulty trading cards.

Distribution of stats
Look at a pet's health and level. If they are both grossly different in comparison to the other stats, then it is clear that the pet only has those high stats because of loyalty prizes which boost only strength, defense, and speed. These pets frankly have almost no value in trading. They can deal a lot of damage to another opponent in the battle arena and defeat them, but more often than not they will be knocked out and end the battle with a draw because of their low hp. If you see a pet like this offered on your trade, reject it immediately.

I definitely focused on certain pet species more than others, but that is because I have personally traded or seen trades with these pets completed already. Sorry if I didn't cover your pet species. Sad I hope that my tips still helped in any sort of way. Thanks for reading!
