Quest Guide: Why to do them and how much to spend
8 years, 11 months & 26 days ago
21st May 2016 21:47

Amounts are purely ESTIMATES using my best judgment. Feel free to correct me, so I can make this Guide even better. Smile
Beginner Quests (MINIMAL BUT CONSISTENT PROFIT):
Max Spending is the maximum you should limit yourself when spending.

Snowman: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 2-5k and occasional Ice Sculpture reward that is hard to sell unless you have shop pricer but is worth a decent amount.
Max Spending: 5k

Secret Santa: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 2-5k or occasional large sum of money like 9-11k. Sometimes even a 25k mp reward and a 1mp trading card. Best quest for new players by far.
Max Spending: 5k
General Tip for the first two quests:
They like to ask you for clothing and plushies. Avoid spending too much on them though because they do NOT give a higher reward for how much you pay.

Candy Tree: RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 2-5k and occasional candy fruit to be sold for 5-10k. DON???T be fooled. Chocolate Costume is extremely rare. I have done 325 quests and sill have no chocolate costume. Do this quest for the minimal reward.
Max Spending: 5k

Borak's Brew: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 2-9k and an occasional cooking utensil. Great for Shop Pricer users!
Love this quest so much. He gives huge rewards for even cheap stuff like paint, perfume, and marapop. Just be careful when he asks for an expensive potion or coffee because those can get expensive depending on base price or rarity respectively.
Max Spending 6k

Intermediate Quest: (Need a decent amount of money and PATIENCE to make the most mp of these quests in the long run) Usually means you need a shop pricer to make things easier.

Aquarium: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: Scholarship and negligible amount of mp. Can sell the scholarship generally for 10-20k more than you bought any worm for. It might take a while to sell the scholarship though.
However, there is a more lucrative but longer approach to making money from the aquarium through university. Essentially, if you have pets that have low university stats, take them to university with a scholarship and hopefully they churn out a hieroglyphic. Depending on which one it might be UB, meaning some people will be willing to pay upwards to 700k for it! Definitely a great quest that you should ALWAYS do if you have the money.
Max Spending: 15k

Leprechaun: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 200-1500 rp but an occasional 25k rp.
Think of each rp you gain and multiply it by 6. You should then get an accurate estimate of how much you are earning from Leprechaun Quests.
Max Spending 6-8k Are you feeling lucky?:

Simerian Excavator: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Rewards: 1-4 k and a occasional simerian slate
Can???t recommend this quest too much because she will always ask for 3 items and oftentimes the items aren???t necessarily cheap, and she doesn???t always give a slate. The slate sell for a decent 30k, but they may take a while to sell. That???s why I recommend this quest more to those doing the slate pyramid for the AU or if they have a shop pricer giftbox to make selling slates easier.
Max Spending: 26 k. (13k per item)

Kamilah Traveler:
Rewards 2-4k and an occasional code. Codes are used in the Kamilah Pyramid for the Hump Pet. They are a lot rare than slates, but also more expensive! Some codes go for more than 100k which means big mp if you manage to sell one. However, it can be discouraging to go many a quest without getting a code. Know when to back out of a kamilah traveler quest run!
Maximum: 26k(13k per item sounds fine)

Elger: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ONLY if you have Double Crystals Giftbox
Rewards: 1k and guaranteed crystal. Crystals sell for around 6k. If you have a Shop Pricer Giftbox or do Gym Training, these quests are worth it in the long run. Make sure to hoard crystals in your attic after or before an event. Once an event starts crystals rise in value because some events will require people to do gym training. Making it a perfect time to sell!
Max Spending: 14k (REMEMBER stocking up on crystals is GOOD)

Restocking Quests:
Max Spending: If you have a Shop Pricer, just buy everything. UNLESS it's expensive armor like gauntlets or potions because those can be expensive and can give very little points due to their low rarity.

Desert Spy:
Highly recommended for people with an active shop and a lot of money since it will pay over time if you have a shop pricer giftbox

Sometimes he will ask you to restock from popular shops like canned food or minipet food. In that case, you just have to wait for the quest to time out. There's no work around. It is a gradual climb to get to an Enchanted Justin Plushie, but just remember that they sell for 20-25 mil. Therefore, every Spy Point you get can be considered as 20 mp! Reward is dependent on rarity of item multiplied by something, so don't be surprised when you get like 60 pts for an expensive item.

Cosmonaut:
Also situational, but this time he gives mp rewards, so it's not too bad. You generally won't get lucky when it comes to getting enchanted le dip and the mp rewards suck, but it is still a fine quest to do as long as you can sell the items you restock in your shop.

Generally Mediocre Quests
These quests are not as good as they used to be either because of their rewards or inflation. Some can still be done if the items are cheap, but I find that it is usually still not worth doing them.

Farmer:
Rewards: 2-5k and the occasional yarn ball. I used to like farmer quests because items were cheaper back then, but now he likes to ask for expensive items and 3 at a time. Definitely not as good anymore.
Max: 4-5k

Garage:
Rewards:2-6kish. He used to be easier for quests like the farmer quests were originally, but the abundance of new car parts really screwed him over. Sometimes he will ask for expensive parts that are worth like 10k. Still worth checking him out when he asks for some of the cheaper parts, but generally I can only do 3 and then have to quit.
Max:4-5

Santa Claws:
Rewards: 2-5k. This used to be a good quest to do until plushie inflation took over??? Now instead of toys being incredibly expensive, it???s plushies. Avoid this quest at all costs because he will generally ask for plushies and nowadays it???s easy for plushies to be around 6-10k.

Puchalla Inn:
Rewards: Idk 2-5k?Coffee and Drinks are VERY expensive now. They can be around 6k each. Meaning the mp rewards he give suck! No one cares about Charisma stat either, so you are wasting money by doing these quests.

Travis Truck:
Rewards: 2-6k. He gives better rewards than usual, but he also asks for expensive items like poop, canned food, and worms. He can also ask for 3 at a time??? Was easier to do his quests back in the day when those items were a lot cheaper.

"Lucky Quests"
Generally not recommended for the following reasons: Expensive items, rare rewards, little mp gains.

Robot Repair Quests
Reward: A little mp and the occasional robot minipet(rare) Every 35 mins you can repair a robot. However, repairing them requires a battery that is at least 10k... Also robot minipets can be found in shop search and are not easy to sell.

Sewer Monster Quests
Rewards: 2-6 k? and the occasional Bug Plushie (rare)
This fat ugly slug likes to drain at your finances. Each item he asks for is usually a Murfin Madness gift, expensive gumball, sewage prize, or poop, and he can ask for three at a time. Each of them generally costs 10k so you will be paying 30k per quest.
Reward is a bug plushie that can be easily sold for 500-100k, but the Sewer Monster will rarely offer them. I have already done 75 quests and spent maybe 30k on each quest and still have no bug plushie.
Sewer missions used to be popular and bug plushies would sell for around a mil, but nowadays less people are doing it and thus selling for more than 500k is a struggle. Good luck.

Knutt House
Reward: Mental Costume(Rare) and mp. Not worth at all because Mental Costume can be found in SS for 200k and there is a 45 min wait time until a feeding session. Mental costume is still rare to get too, so honestly there is no point in trying this quest. MP rewards suck and the items cost more around 8k each.

Eleka Prison
Reward: RP and circus ticket. Not really luck based since you get a consistent reward, but still suckish. Just do Leprechaun Quests and get more consistent rp that way. Unless you are doing the Circus Missions and can buy cheap minipet food, this quest is really not worth it. Comes around every 30 mins.

Hump Racing:
Reward: Potential 15,000 mp or 250 mp and yuni brown coupon.
Crap quest. The drinks can sometimes cost around 6k, so you???ll more often than not end up in the red. The only way you'll possibly win is by giving a drink to the hump with the best odds. Comes around every 35 mins.

Training Quests:
Computer Repair:
A decent quest to take. A bit harder to do nowadays because people will even buy less rare stuff like cpu fans and overcharge them in their shops, but I will generally do one of his quests if they are around 5k.
Max Spending: 5k

Personal Trainer:
Recommended for people with pets that have high stats. Otherwise, the items he ask for require too much Olympic points. Might as well save up for a Figaro potion if you want to do his quests tbh, or you can sell the items he requests for a higher price in shop search. Not a good quest for new players AT ALL, but perfect for rich players who want to grind their high statted pets as quickly as possible.

Battle Quests (Knutt Knight, Sumo Sally, Talon):
RECOMMENDED ONLY IF YOU ARE AN ADVANCED PLAYER.
SORRY. I have no idea because I don???t battle at all. xD
You NEED a big deck to do most of these quests, and a deck can be very expensive. You also need a statted pet, and for the Sumo Sally Quests you can???t do them without a Sumo Sally Pass.
If a veteran would give me some info on how these quests work, I would definitely fit it in this blog.

Other
Microwave:
Does anybody actually do this quest? Lol. Sorry. You need to be creative I guess, but in general I don???t think this is a very good quest because you don???t really get a solid reward.

Ridiculously Advanced Quests
Shusan: RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH A HUGE WARDROBE
Rewards: A sock, not even a full item, Lol. Literally one of the worst quests I can think of for new players. You even have to get a matching pair in order to actually get an item. and the item itself can be hard to sell. This quests sucks, but it is really good for people who have all the clothes because they can literally just spam her quests and hopefully get matching pairs. Also, socks can be hard to sell unless you have shop pricer.

Slater Stalker: RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH A LARGE AVATAR LIST
Reward: Stalker Points. If you???re like me, you won???t have that many avatars. This can be a problem because she can ask you for really rare avatars like Banjo, and if you don???t have it too bad! The item she asks for isn???t too bad though usually.

Thanks for reading the guide! I???d appreciate any criticism or If you have a link I???d like to correct some of these values.

This is a guide for a complete to get "rich" in Marapets WITHOUT being extremely fast in restocking rare items or paying for AU

Getting rich in Marapets without paying isn't easy.
When you first start, it's difficult to decide what to do.
Play games to make mp?
Restock and resell from forums?
Do quests?
All of them seem like viable options at first.
You naturally want to do all the free games to get easy mp, but the best way to make money as a new player without playing the aggravating flash games is to do simple quests.

Quests I recommend for beginners are Secret Santa and Snowman because a lot of the other quests will sometimes want three items at a time which can make overspending an issue if some of the items are not restockable in shops because other players will usually sell them for more.
The above quests I mentioned only require one item that you must send to a random player, and the items are typically restockable in other shops.
A guideline I like to follow is to spend at max 5,000 when it comes to these quests. If you follow this guideline, usually you will end up having a profit, though you may have to time out some of these quests when they ask for expensive items.
The profit will be slow, but trust me just keep at it.
[I may make a blog about quest specifics later]

Once you have at least 500k, that's when the fun starts.
Now instead of waiting for quests to time out if they are too expensive. You can buy and sell unbuyable items in forums or through shop search for 500k.
Unbuyable items are special because more often than not people will be willing to pay more for them because it's not on shop search.
As a result, you have a chance of making a profit!
This extends to auctions too, but like restocking this can be really difficult in order to bid the lowest price possible and of course the other players who might outbid you!

Be careful though. Do NOT buy photos, plates, or colored minipets. These are actually traps that seem like a good deal at first but are actually hard to sell.
[I may make a blog about reselling specifics later]

Naturally, giftboxes and maps will help you a lot. ESPECIALLY the Simerian Explorer map. However, this guide is for the complete who just started, so if you have this map already there is no need to follow my guide and just do a ton of those quests, lol.
Marapets is indeed a site that makes the rich richer and comfier, but that doesn't mean that us peasants can't get to the top!
Don't be discouraged when you are starting here and press on!
