chapter 2 the dream world

Chapter 2: Kidnapped.

Nothing eventful happened between then and noon when the doctor let me get up and leave. We got out into the village and I remembered that I had to go check in with the Lord, now I didn???t feel too bad for not knowing his name because no one did.
???So what do you want to do???? My trainer asked.
???Well I have to check in, after that I don???t know, train and see people are high up on the list.??? I said starting towards the Lords place at the far end of the town near the lake. Our village lays in-between a thick forest and a big lake.
We went and checked in and then wondered around the village for a few hours meeting up with old friends and such. I was kind of confused by the way they were all getting around saying names, like ???hay you.??? That was a common statement as we walked. I was the only one sent by myself, the others were sent in groups of two or three and they all trained under the same person, me, I went alone. I know why to, the village I was sent to had a bad reputation for treating their students and I was deemed the only one who could go and come back unchanged because I never let anyone close to me for anything, plus I was very stubborn and I never let any one push me around. Well I can???t say I came back unchanged because that would be a lie, I found I cared more for the villagers then I thought and I???d protect them with my life.
We ran across that man again, the one with the long blue robe thing. He was standing at the village banner staring into the trees; I got the feeling that something was wrong and he knew but just didn???t want to say anything in case he was wrong. He never spoke to us as we left to go into the woods to train till dark so it couldn???t have been that serious.
We walked about five minutes into the woods then took a left and walked for about ten minutes till we got to a small clearing, with very little grass and there were three stakes about four feet high and three apart at the back of the clearing.
We all knew these stakes well having been trained here for a long time. I myself have ended up tied to mine, the middle one, quite often during training.
Come to think of it I do have another team-mate besides this girl, she???s about the same build as this girl but she has back hair that???s shoulder length. She also hardly-never talks, but I haven???t seen her yet. My trainer must have known that I was thinking about her.
???We haven???t got word from the group from Winda yet so I don???t know were she is??? he said probably assuming that I knew who he was talking about by name, which I didn???t so I walked over to my stake.
???Alright,??? I said ???How do you plan to train us toda-???
I was cut off guard and within sections was tied to the stake.
???HAY! Hold on WHAT was that for!??? I yelled angrily trying to kick him because my arms were tied to my sides.
???You still don???t have a great attention span. I thought they were good at teaching that.??? My trainer said his hands on his hips while the girl just stood there watching.
???Ya, you know what else there good at? Killing! Hurting! Outrages tests! and in my option stupid trainers!??? I yelled angrily.
???Oh so we had a problem with the trainer you were give???? he asked standing straight.
???Ya he acted like you!??? I yelled
???Then I must meet him??? he said rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
???Untie Me!!??? I yelled
???Now Clam down Dawson??? he laughed.
???You come close enough for me to touch you and you???ll get it big time!??? I said angrily
???Well that???s a good reason for me to untie you??? he said ???Now if you were on a real mission what would you be doing right now????
???I???d hang limp, pretend I fainted and never open my mouth, no matter how much pain or torture I was seduced to.??? I mumbled calming down enough to think straighter.
???I thought that we were just not to talk if we got captured.??? The girl said
???You can talk if you want to just never tell anything that might give away why your there, but Dawson has a good thought here, if you pretend to have fainted your captures might just give up on getting information out of you and let you be and if he leaves you can try to escape without being noticed.??? My trainer explained going forwards to unite me.
I don???t quite know what happened next, there was a great flash of light, a scream from the girl and I played dead, I even bit through my lip for the blood effect. I heard my trainer yell for the girl to run and I guess she didn???t get far because I heard her scream again. Then I heard a yell, it was a deep voice that I thought I knew but couldn???t place, then a flash of light and then nothing. I thought I went deaf, I couldn???t hear anything at all not even the trees blowing in the breeze. I just hung there limp on the stake. Then I felt hands touch my stomach and despite all my training I jumped.
???Don???t panic Dawson, I???ll help you down.??? The voice said. It was the deep voice from before.
I opened my eyes to see the man that wore the long blue robe thing. He slowly untied me and let me slide down to the ground.
???Are you hurt???? he asked ???you???re covered in blood???
???No??? I answered. I could taste the blood in my mouth as I tried to stop the bleeding ???I did it myself.???
???So you played possum then???? he asked
???Ya not a very honourable thing but I was tied to the stake plus I haven???t been myself lately.??? I mumbled looking around for the girl and my trainer.
???They???re gone??? the man said ???I tried to save them but I was too late.???
???You knew something was wrong when we left, why didn???t you say something???? I asked getting up. He looked shocked by what I had said.
???Well I wasn???t sure??? he said as if the case was closed and I had no right to question him, well I didn???t but still.
I just stood there as he stared at me like I had insulted him through and through, so I turned away and stared into the woods. The silence was unbearable; it reminded me of the days that I would fight with my father. I would spend all day standing with my back to him and then I would start to sing or hum, to break the silence, and without knowing it I started doing. It was a song for the travelers wishing them a safe trip and a quick return, without injury.
He just stood there and let me sing the whole song then said,
???I???m sorry I was angry with you, I know you just got back and all so???I???m sorry.???
???Disgusting.??? I said spitting out more blood. It was safe to say that it didn???t taste good to me.
???You need to see a doctor, you probably need stitches.??? He said.
???I???m fine.??? I said
???Your stubborn, I have no idea how your trainer puts up with you.??? He said taking me by the arm and leading me back towards the village.
When we arrived there was a group of people including the doctor and the Lord all wanting to know what happened. I became embarrassed and hid behind the guy with the robe thing the best I could with him hanging onto me. Everyone was talking at once and my head started swimming in a cold sweet and I, even though I stood still, fell against the man who grabbed me by both shoulders to hold me up but no one noticed till I was sick and almost collapsed. After that I didn???t understand much, there was a panic whisper going through everything.
I remember someone saying that I couldn???t walk by myself and someone took me (I guess it was the doctor) and lead me away from the man, who was the only reason I was still standing, and then I passed out.
