Story of Sougi

Note: Purely made up by and is just a bit of back story for an rp I'm doing on here.

Sougi is a small town known mostly for being near the government research lab, West Dalso. What it isn't known for is Lake Letko which was a favorite waste dumping site for the government long before the waste was found hazardous, even then it was still dumped there. When the town well went dry in the 1900's the town turned to the lake to be part of their water supply, unknown at the time of the waste being still dumped in it. Most of the fishers who fished the lake only seemed to rarely run into freak fish with two heads, normally the fish were just much larger than normal and none of the fishes complained about that.

It wasn't until years later that the effects of the waste dumping effected the humans, it was simple stuff to cover up at first as it was the rare conjoined twins or mental issues being developed over time. But then it started to be more common for more mental issues to arise, most chose to deal with them on their own or go three or four towns away to use the mental hospitals there to not make their small town known for something that might cause the government research lab to be viewed as bad.

Despite none of the workers living in Sougi instead they lived in the dorms or houses near the lab, on their own water system not the towns due to them knowing the water isn't good yet not doing anything about it. In fact the whole town is basically an experiment by the government, and any of the people who get to the mental hospitals are quickly transferred to a different one if they come from Sougi. A lot of the times, some people from the town end up missing because they grew too powerful or simply caught the eye of the lab. However it isn't easy to make people go missing in a small closed off town like Sougi, thus there are rumors around the town that when the Black Suits arrive that one or more will go missing.

In light of this, people started to keep more under the radar and learning how to control their powers, if they have powers, and hide their physical mutations. Although the physical mutations were a new thing that only really started to become common in the last generation and new generations. However more Black Suits have been showing up along with a few new people, which naturally makes the towns folks believe that the new people are just spies for the lab and not interact with them unless they had to. The fact that the new people were spies was the worst kept secret the town had that they didn't know was completely true.
