I actually joined Marapets on October 9, 2006, 2:25 pm
SOOOOO I was complaining on the forums, as per usual, about how Marapets needs to have a mobile website design concept, so I decided to make a quick mockup design of a mobile site concept for Marapets. Long story short, I'm currently studying to being a UX/UI Designer (a user experience designer) and I thought it would be cute to design a mock up for the site. I honestly threw this real quick and I would love to update this more and put more work into it, and make some of my ideas and concepts more prettier and more aesthetically pleasing lol.
Below is a mock up design of the "Homepage" of marapets. It has the usual content of the homepage.
For the top portion of the layout, I wanted it to have the most BASIC features that users use for the site, and for me, it was all about the money, and the pets the users have. It has the site logo, followed by some basic user stats, like the doll and how much money the user has (with all four currencies). Also it showed three of the users pets, followed by a button to access more of the users pets. I felt like it was really important to include images of the pets because this site is centered around virtual pets after all.

I wanted to expand on the navigation. There is a LOOOOOT of features on this site honestly that it is a lot to take in and organize in a fun, easy to use way. I was inspired by apples application design for the navigation portion, where users can check mail, go to the map, look at the news, e.c.t. In the future, I would love to include some Icon Art, very inspired by the app store.

Lastly I designed the explore page. There is a total of 24 worlds on this site (WOWZERS). SO its a lot to organize all the worlds and make it fit it all on the screen. Obviously I included the map of Marada, where users could click on the part of the map that they can go to, much like on the desktop version. On the bottom, features a slideshow feature that users can scroll through if they are not familiar with certain worlds or whatever.

There's obviously a LOOTTTT more features that I can design, but i felt like i scratched the surface of this site and its capabilities in a mobile version. I feel like the concept that I offered is a very strong one and would work perfectly to users who mainly use this site on mobile.
keep in mind that this is totally like a rough draft version of this site and i would love to hear comments and opinions about this concept and ideas.
Comment below and tell me what you think!!

As long as you get the option to either use the mobile site or the original site on mobile, this is a great idea.
I use mara on mobile up to 20 hours a day and would hate if it changed tbh.

@Nafre aw thank you! And most definatley! I feel like this concept could easily translate to different size phones, and even mobile tablets. Of course, more work would be done with it hehe.
and sure, i would love to work with Ian or at least give him ideas!
