The Spider

So, I should start with saying. I really don???t like spiders all that much. I used to be arachnophobic, but it appears I???ve cured that. When I was 18, One of my best friends and I saw a spider, no bigger than the size of my pinky, on the wall and we were standing on my bed throwing shoes at it. My Big brother heard the noise and came in the room. He asked, ???What on earth are Y???all doing in here???? My response, a single word and me pointing at something next to his head. ???Spider??? He just said Oh. Picked up one of the shoes I???d thrown and then squashed the spider. Said ???There??? and walked out of the room.

After that I came up with other creative ways of disposing of the creepy intruders. One of which involved hairspray and a bic lighter. Don???t worry, I was outdoors for that one. I just used what ever was on hand if no one else was around.

But today. Today, I do believe I met my match. And I realized, I do believe my fear is gone and replaced with something else. Anger. But why? Why would I be angry at a little Arachnid? My daily driver is a Black AWD CRV with Shields over all 4 windows so I could crack them and not have to worry about water getting in. Well, I learned a long time ago, don???t crack them, because where as water can???t get in, little creepy crawlies CAN. UGH! So, I don???t do that anymore. Well, today I was going to my CRV and I was greeted by a little black fuzzy spider with a Yellow, it looked like a hourglass, on its back. It was sitting on the Drivers Sideview Mirror??? watching me. So I ease my way around the mirror. Careful not to disturb the beast as it watched me watching it. The hairs on my arm raising, my blood wanting to boil. I wanted to smash it with something, but I had nothing to smash it with, and at the point I am in my life, I really don???t like killing things. I would have rather moved it. So, I said to it, ???Fine, let???s go for a ride punk!??? I made my move for the door handle. And it moved down the mirror onto the door. But I was faster and already into the car closing the door. I watched it as I pulled out onto the road, it managed to position itself in a place to where it would be safe from the wind. And then it Climbed up into the rain guards, that???s when I almost panicked. ALMOST, I said. I searched to make sure there were no leaks in the window for it to get in car with me. And then I calmed myself down, Made it to my first destination and instead of going through the drive thru like I had initially planned. I went inside. I really didn???t want to roll that window down. When I came back out a few minutes later, it had come out of its hiding spot and was waiting close to the mirror for me. I pointed my key at it and said, ???Oh there you are! Ready for another ride!??? It just wiggled around a little. I got back in the car and went on to my next destination. It almost lost its footing when I took off, but then it went right back up into its hiding place in my Weather shields. That little spider made it all the way back home with me. I was driving approximately 60 MPH with it. Talk about a determined little arachnid. This time, I must say, the spider won. LOL Well played Mr. Spider, Well played. HAHA!
