30th Oct 2008 18:39 Someday, they'll be Roflings. Just wait and see. If I set my mind to making them Roflings, it'll happen. Maybe not this year, but it will happen.
-Currently portalling Norrma in hopes of raising her stats-
I don't care what cossie she turns, I'm just interested in stats.
Here's the first chapter of Norrma and Gwinne's story-
Norrma sprinted as fast as she could to the Dwelling, knowing the fate of everyone who lived their depended upon receiving this parcel. She pushed against all of her instincts that told her she was overworking herself. Her heart sped faster than a rabbit???s, her muscles expanded and contracted in unison beneath her skin. A smile spread across her face as she neared the small hole in the ground that was the entrance to The Dwelling.
She leapt in head first as she crawled through the borough. Norrma threw her head back to shake out out the dirt when she was finally able to stand again. Gwin was standing in wait for her, ready to escort her to the leader of their clan. ???Finally, you???re back! I thought the poachers had gotten to you!??? Gwin exclaimed excitedly, his blue fur reflecting the light of the torches ever so gracefully. ???Me? Caught? Get a hold of yourself, Gwin!??? Norrma laughed as she raced ahead of Gwin.
They didn???t talk much on their way to their Clan Leader, Brock. They were more about getting things done than talking about them. Even though they were more into???action, they did devote a good amount of time to just sitting in their burrow together thinking, contemplating life silently, evaluating their struggles. They had a lot of them, but they dealt with them well. Both Gwin and Norrma were orphans, their parents killed by the monsters that had taken over the Roflings??? territory long ago. And both lived in a small community of the few remaining Roflings, hanging onto their survival by a thread. Norrma had just returned from a raid of one of the old abandoned Rofling cities to retrieve some much needed supplies.
Despite these challenges, Norrma and Gwin were exceptionally happy. They had food, shelter, and water, but more important than that, they had each other. And no matter what happened, they knew the other would always be there for them.
Finally, they approached a fairly large brick building. This was the home of Brock and the meeting place of all the Roflings. They knocked a little too enthusiastically on the door, and delivered the package, beaming, as Brock opened the door. ???Nice work, Norrma?????? He said, monotonely, not surprised in the least at her success. ???You sure you got everything???? ???Yes, sir!??? She exclaimed quickly. Brock sighed in exasperation and rolled his eyes as he turned and headed back into his house. The two friends took no notice of it as they skipped off to their burrows.
???Hey, Norrm,??? Gwin said unsurely. Norrma looked at him questioningly. ???Yeah???? ???Are things going to get better? Are the poachers ever going away???? he asked suddenly but quietly. ???I don???t know, Gwin. I try not to think bout it. But I???m sure they will,??? Norrma said a bit more optimistically, but hiding an underlying fear. It was a topic the two often thought about, but hardly ever spoke of aloud.
They reached the burrow and crawled in slowly, preparing for another silent contemplation session. A small, almost unnoticeable tear trickled down Gwin???s cheek as he settled in for the night.
