Hubbys New Job

6th Aug 2008 11:36 So unfortunately, hubby has been out of work for a bit. He has had some small contract work here and there but mostly it has been around 8 months. This last time he worked for a university who decided it would be fun to have a new policy to challenge all laid off personnel to keep from having to contribute their portion of the unemployment insurance since they were having to lay of a significant number of employees.
What this ended up doing was causing a "flag" on my hubbys unemployment and you know the state hates "flags" of that type. Ultimately, instead of getting our unemployment within 2 weeks like we should have, it took 8 weeks with zero dollars coming in. Boys and girls, that was a very hard time and there are many families out there in the U.S. right now that are in similar circumstances and my thoughts and good wishes go out to you and your families since I totally understand where you are coming from.
I am making a plea that everyone who can, please thoughtfully examine your hearts, look at each of the candidates for President and then vote your conscience and not a "sound bite" or what a T.V. commentator tells you is the best person. Our country is not doing well. You just need to look at all of the statistics of the hundreds of thousands of folks laid off every month to know that is true.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms on Marapets (like me). I spoke with my mom tonight since my telephone company was silly enough to offer free mother's day phone calls for anyone who wanted to call. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get in touch with her tomorrow and so I called her late today. I had sent a card and and ecard too. She said she understands and is having a nice supper out. My daughter lives in Providence, RI and that makes her very far away from me.
So my hubby went to the store today and got special things to make a special supper for me himself. All through out our 33 year marriage I have been happy that he can cook and well. I hope everyone hears from those they care about and others remember to call those who are waiting for a call from them. A simple call can make all of the difference sometimes to a lonely person. Server Problems

15th Apr 2008 15:52 I was one of the unfortunate folks that were kept off line due to the server problem over the past few days. Yipes! It was really horrible not to be able to play Marapets for all of those days so I hope it never happens again. I missed playing the games and talking to the people I know here. One fun thing was looking into my inventory and finding all of my Easter Eggs from the Hunt that I completed this year and got the avatar for too.

8th Apr 2008 07:29 So I found a very cool club with some very cool people called the Mara~Mates. The owner was very sweet to me and she lives in England. Since I live here in the U.S. it means the chat board gets good coverage. It's at http://www.marapets.com/club.php?id=110618 and I encourage you to give it a look. I am almost done with all of the Easter Hunt. I have to wait for p.m. hours for one of the numbers and then I'm finished. Yippee!! I have to get some stuff filled out for the club so I had better get to work on it.

7th Apr 2008 09:24 I've been getting tons of error messages today as I've been trying to finish us the Easter Hunt. I'm almost done so I would like to finish but it is hard when I get error messaged out of something I can only do "once a day"! And I also keep getting told that I have given 3 scores for games when I have only given one or two and that is what is shows on the game too. I play the game and keep getting the error no matter what the game says I have turned scores in for. Argghh, it makes me just want to sign off and go else where.
