Black Friday Poem

30th Nov 2024 13:15 Black Friday
Few knew what lay in store that Friday.
It started, as these things always do,
with the haberdashers, where reckless price slashers offered ten percent off cerise beading trimming.
Soon the place was full to brimming
and as the prices lowered, the tension rose
resulting in a bloodied nose by the children's clothes.
In Winter Wear, customers turned to scufflers over discounted mufflers, and there was more fighting among the Table Lighting where one shopper got lamped, then put in the shade.
There was carnage by the cardiagans, burnings in Home Furnishings, a fracus near the nail lacquer, not to mention the infamous mascara massacre. In Luggage, where somebody leaked mustard gas, the worst case scenario came to pass.
Thirty-five shoppers lost their lives in the fray- casualties of consumerism, malled to death, lest we forget, on Black Friday.
