Day one

And we're off! The news banner reads Team Points (i.e. challenges completed) but seems more likely based on the numbers that these are Event Points (the currency to be used in the Event Shop). This is the first year to have daily totals, the first in a long time to include a points shop (since 2007 I believe?) and also the first to have two different types of points, so some glitches are to be expected (as occured on Day 1 when the system showed people as being on different teams than they were, leading to some confusion).
Chibs have pulled way ahead in front with over 100,000 points between them and second place Jessups. Huthiqs are in third place with Snookles trailing behind. But it's only day 1 and there's no telling what will happen!
Day two Totals so far:
Huthiqs: 3,950,994 🥉
Jessups: 4,006,465 🥈
Chibs: 4,124,627 🏆
Snookles: 3,692,484
Already the teams have evened out, with the three leaders within 18,009 points of eachother. Huthiqs remain relatively stable. Chibs, who had blazed out in front on day 1, suffer the biggest loss in motivation. Of course, some variation in motivation is to be expected, dropping as the event goes on. A month long event takes its toll and people drop out, lose focus, or simply can't be bothered to try for 100 points every day. The excitement of the new event wears off by around day 10 in my experience. By the end, a lot of people resign themselves to just collecting the daily badge.
As this is the first event with daily totals published, it will be interesting to see how this effects teams' motivation. Could it be Chibs got too complacent too early? Have Snookles given up already, or are they gearing up to take the lead? We have 28 days left so it remains to be seen whether the hare stays lazy enough for the tortoise to pull ahead.
The teams totals are interesting. Some claimed that the most likable mascots, i.e. chibs and snookle, would have teams more motivated to win. But Snookles are far behind in last place and Jessups, the only non-le and a relatively unliked pet, are in second place, only 120,000 points behind Chibs.
Day three
And we see our first upset! Jessups fall into third place on the daily points, with Huthiqs managing to claw second by just 10,000 points. It's not enough to shake up the ranks, with 45,000 points between their total scores, but it looks like Jessups need to work harder to make sure they don't fall behind!
Meanwhile, Snookles are snookling sneaking up on third place, undergoing the smallest loss in daily points. Could our underdogs be banking on the laziness of other teams? If they can stay consistent, they have a chance at the prize.
The teams are getting lazier, the daily numbers continue to drop. Every team has won at least 10% less points than they did on day two. If this continues, who knows where the numbers will end up? If one team can rally themselves, they could easily overtake first place. There's 250,000 points between first and third place. One day of major effort could see Jessups or Huthiqs or even Snookles steaming ahead to victory.
Day four Totals so far:
Huthiqs: 7,209,599🥈
Jessups: 7,199,624🥉
Chibs: 7,474,556 🏆
Snookles: 7,005,193
A MAGNIFICENT TOUR DE FORCE from our underdogs Snookles!! They have pulled widely ahead of all the other teams to secure first place in the daily points. If they keep this up they can easily overtake first place. This also marks the first time a team has secured more points than they did the previous day! Meanwhile Jessups have dropped down to third place, our first change in the total rankings since day one. Huthiqs secure second place, but only just, with a mere 10,000 points separating the teams. It looks like this will be a close call for the rest of the month.
Chibs continue to hold the lead, but with the largest daily drops in points, who knows how long they can hold onto their throne? Did they fly too close to the sun?
Day 5 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 8,519,353 🥈
Jessups: 8,425,379 🥉
Chibs: 8,913,877 🏆
Snookles: 8,369,906
A massive drop in motivation as 3 of the teams gain almost 20% less points than they did on day 4! Is everyone getting tired already? Yet this hasn't affected the Snookles' performance in the rankings as they continue to sneak up on third place, coming second in the daily points. If they can get 56,000 more points than the Jessups tomorrow, they can take third!
Jessups remain in fourth place in the daily rankings. Can they make a comeback soon before they fall too far behind?
If these drops in the daily points continue, there won't be many points separating the teams, and it won't take long for one team to steal first place from Chibs! Can the Champions be knocked down, or will we soon find out that these kitties have claws?
Day 6 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 9,774,088 🥈
Jessups: 9,697,186 🥉
Chibs: 10,292,916 🏆
Snookles: 9,539,885
And it's the Jessups who fight back this time! Coming second in the daily rankings and holding onto third place, refusing to give up their spot to Snookles. A reminder that since first, second and third place will all win prizes, it becomes a race not to the top, but to avoid the bottom. No one wants to come last.
Snookles have dropped in points again. All this back and forth puts them at risk of losing for the second year in a row. Can they recover and tighten up the gap between them and Jessups?
The total rankings remain unchanged, with Chibs being the first team to break the 10 million barrier. And this only a week in! Will we hit 100 million points before the end of the event?
Day 7 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 10,852,150 🥈
Jessups: 10,802,981
Chibs: 11,442,365 🏆
Snookles: 10,803,118 🥉
JESSUPS HAVE FALLEN. REPEAT, JESSUPS HAVE FALLEN. A miraculous effort from Snookles sees them overtake Jessups by a hair to steal third place! Our underdogs refuse to lay sleeping for this event! Only 137 points separate them, that's the equivalent of just one or two challenges! Both teams will need to put their all in to keep out of last place.
Huthiqs fall to last place in the daily points, but their total rankings keep them in second place. Can they recover long enough to keep Snookles or Jessups from sneaking up and stealing their spot? Only 50,000 points, or around 600 challenges separate them from last place. They better hope they don't get tired and slip.
Chibs seem unshakeable from their perch, with almost 600,000 points keeping them from second place. It would take a major effort on Huthiqs' part to win, but if the daily numbers continue to drop at the same rate, Chibs might see themselves in hot water!
At the end of the first week, all teams have given their all to secure themselves points and try to bag the first place. The rankings look stable but it's important to remember they aren't set in stone. We're just a quarter of the way through the event. Any team could blaze ahead or fall behind, and it takes a continued effort from each and every team member to fight for their prize.
Day 8 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 11,869,141 🥈
Jessups: 11,856,534 🥉
Chibs: 12,572,071 🏆
Snookles: 11,810,994
Snookles take a mighty tumble back down to fourth place as their points for yesterday drop 20% from the day before! It just goes to show that no matter how high the points climb, at the end of the day it all comes to a tiny number. Just a small lapse in concentration can affect the standings.
Not that that affects Chibs, however, as they remain on top of the leaderboard, where they've stayed comfortably since the beginning of the event. Can our runnersup Huthiqs muster up the courage to take them on? It will be tough, but not impossible with a sustained effort!
Jessups have risen back up to third, but how long can they hold on to that position? Will our long-necked friends stretch themselves out of danger?
In other news, the prizes for this event have been released! We got gourmets, we got collectables, we got clothing, we got instruments, we got plushies, all of it Superhero or Alien themed! No matter what you collect, there's something for everyone. Hopefully this will encourage all the teams to start collecting those points! What will you buy first?
Day 9 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 12,952,599 🥉
Jessups: 12,912,574
Chibs: 13,533,035 🏆
Snookles: 12,975,305 🥈
A topsy-turvey day today as Snookles recover from their setback yesterday to take SECOND PLACE! At this rate Chibs will be in jeopardy, especially as they are not only the only team to gain less points than they did the previous day, but they are the first team to gain less than a million in a single day! They'll have to sink their claws in to keep from slipping down the leaderboard!
Huthiqs are knocked down to third, and Jessups land at fourth place again. Only 50,000 points separate the teams as they vie to stay out of last place. Who will be able to climb out of danger? Will Snookles manage to overtake Chibs? With three weeks left it's anyone's game!
Day 10 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 13,960,069 🥈
Jessups: 13,845,182
Chibs: 14,514,070 🏆
Snookles: 13,953,700 🥉
Points separating the teams:
554,001 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
6,369 points between Huthiqs and Snookles
108,518 points between Snookles and Jessups
The numbers continue to drop as the event drags on. Huthiqs are the only team to gain more than a million points and it's just enough for them to steal second place back from Snookles. Jessups are last again, both in total points and the daily points. Can they recover before it's too late?
Chibs are still flying ahead in the lead, but how long can their good luck last? Who will be the first team to knock them out of first place?
Huthiqs and Snookles are almost neck and neck. It seems our former underdogs have finally found their footing. How will they fare against Huthiqs in the coming days, who have typically found themselves in second place?
Day 11 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 14,857,398 🥈
Jessups: 14,740,052
Chibs: 15,436,148 🏆
Snookles: 14,770,292 🥉
Points separating the teams:
578,750 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
87,106 points between Huthiqs and Snookles
30,240 points between Snookles and Jessups
Snookles manage to hold on to their lead against Jessups but cannot quite catch up to Huthiqs as the gap between the teams widens. The also suffer the largest drop in daily points and with only 30,000 points between them and fourth place, can they hold on?
The gap between Chibs and second place is large, but it has stayed relatively stable over the past week. It would take a good few days of effort but one team could easily overtake them. Can anyone be brave enough? Will Huthiqs attempt a coup in the coming days, or are they too focused on not slipping to third?
All teams have now dropped to below one million in the daily totals. Will this number rise before the end of the event? With the event shop showing signs of opening soon, it is hoped that the prospect of prizes will encourage everyone to work harder!
Day 12 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 15,756,988 🥈
Jessups: 15,631,787
Chibs: 16,246,666 🏆
Snookles: 15,642,534 🥉
Points separating the teams:
489,678 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
114,454 points between Huthiqs and Snookles
10,747 points between Snookles and Jessups
Huthiqs claim first place in the daily points again as the gap between them and Chibs slowly closes. Chibs meanwhile have fallen to last place in the daily points. If this keeps up Huthiqs might even manage to steal first place!
Jessups are closing in on third place, putting up a good fight and gaining more points than yesterday, but can't quite overtake Snookles. With just 10,000 points between the teams, Snookles need to gather themselves before they slip back into last place.
The event shop has finally opened today, although with the large playerbase fighting over a small amount of items, it is next to impossible for most players to buy anything. Anyone with a slow computer, slow internet speed, or certain disabilities is going to struggle getting more than a few prizes, and the few people who can restock well are going to reap all the rewards of this shop. All the stress of restocking, but with a July 15th time limit! Hopefully this changes soon, or else it will tarnish an otherwise fun event!
Day 13 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 16,749,227 🥈
Jessups: 16,562,390
Chibs: 17,213,128 🏆
Snookles: 16,610,747 🥉
Points separating the teams:
463,901 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
138,480 points between Huthiqs and Snookles
48,357 points between Snookles and Jessups
All teams have boosted their efforts from the previous day, possibly due to the release of the Event Shop. Even Jessups are fighting back, although not enough to pull them out of last place. The opposite in fact, as the gap grows between them and Snookles. Can they recover in time before they fall too far behind?
Huthiqs, who did well enough to take first place on the daily ranking, are slowly sneaking up on Chibs and closing the distance. If this keeps up, Chibs are in danger of slipping from the placing they've held since the beginning.
Finally, the event shop is now a non-restocking shop. Users can buy as much as they want from it, and it has been confirmed it's not a glitch and that this is how it should work from now on. So get buying!
Day 14 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 17,616,844 🥈
Jessups: 17,491,210 🥉
Chibs: 18,120,050 🏆
Snookles: 17,473,296
Points separating the teams:
503,206 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
125,634 points between Huthiqs and Jessups
17,914 points between Jessups and Snookles
It's happened, Jessups have risen to third and Snookles have fallen back to last place! Jessups have managed to raise the same number of points yesterday as they did the day before! It's that sort of consistency that sees results! Snookles will need to work hard to bounce back.
The gap between Chibs and Huthiqs lengthens again, and with half the event left can Huthiqs clear the distance or will Chibs run too far ahead for them to catch? 500,000 points is roughly 5882 tasks. Based on last year's number of 10,000 players who got at least a bronze medal, we can assume there are around 2,500 semi-active players on each team. That means each Huthiq just needs to do 2 extra tasks today to clear the gap. Even if we take 'active' to mean players who will get a gold medal, again based on last year's numbers, each Huthiq needs to do 12 extra tasks each. If tasks show up every 5 minutes, that's just an extra hour of playing. You can use that time to do some quests, catch up on goals, do some moneymaking, and do tasks when they show up.
And for players who can't do extra tasks, for players who feel they aren't doing enough, you're doing plenty! This is a team event. In any team or community, there are some who can do more, and plenty who want to do more, and they support those who for whatever reason can't do as much. Every last task you can do counts. Considering last year was a draw, it might even be your efforts, however minor they may seem now, that push your team over the edge! Remember, at the end of the day, Marapets is just a game. Real life always takes priority, whether it's a crisis or just relaxing away from the computer after a year spent online. Take care of yourself first <3
Day 15 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 18,468,923 🥈
Jessups: 18,367,738 🥉
Chibs: 19,031,330 🏆
Snookles: 18,269,277
Points separating the teams:
562,407 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
101,185 points between Huthiqs and Jessups
98,461 points between Jessups and Snookles
As we reach the halfway point of the event, and with no major shakeups, it looks like the rankings are set in stone. Chibs continue to lead, with the gap between them and Huthiqs growing still. If Huthiqs don't act soon, they won't have a chance of winning! It looks like Chibs are paying attention to this as well, as the only team to gain more points over the previous day. The kitties are picking up speed and running ahead with the trophy.
Jessups remain in third place, with 100,000 points separating them from the teams ahead and behind. It wouldn't be impossible for either team to catch up to second place, but it would take a consistent effort to catch up and then stay there. No one wants to fail at the last hurdle after doing so well!
And this is coming rather late in the day, but for those who weren't able to get their badge yesterday due to the server outtage, Ian has said that anyone who was close to passing can earn the points left and send a support ticket, and the extra points will be moved to yesterday.
Day 16 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 19,286,837 🥈
Jessups: 19,282,449 🥉
Chibs: 19,826,981 🏆
Snookles: 19,187,648
Points separating the teams:
540,144 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
4,388 points between Huthiqs and Jessups
94,801 points between Jessups and Snookles
Jessups and Snookles fight back as both teams gain points on their previous day's effort! Snookles gain the hightest daily points. It's not enough to catch up to third, but it keeps them from falling any further behind. Jessups have cleared the gap between them and Huthiqs who appeared to have been slacking yesterday, with only 4,388 points separating the teams. That's only 52 tasks!
Speaking of slacking, first place Chibs have gained the lowest daily points of any day yesterday, down 12% on the day before. Again, not enough to let Huthiqs catch up, but we have two weeks left folks! Let's not get despondent! It's still anybody's game!
Day 17 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 20,161,597 🥈
Jessups: 20,053,946 🥉
Chibs: 20,702,095 🏆
Snookles: 19,999,047
Points separating the teams:
540,498 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
107,651 points between Huthiqs and Jessups
54,899 points between Jessups and Snookles
A flip from yesterday's scores as our lazy teams fight back and the active teams fall back. Chibs and Huthiqs continue their cat and alien mouse game with both teams gaining almost the same amount of points, keeping the gap between them level. Huthiqs are putting up a good fight but they'll have to try harder to catch up!
Jessups and Snookles on the other hand are both getting lazier with their points. Jessups have fallen 100,000 points behind Huthiqs after almost catching up to them the day before. They haven't fallen so much to slip to fourth place, however, as Snookles stay behind them by 55,000 points. Will they come back to challenge Jessups, or are they resigned to last place?
Day 18 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 20,909,913 🥈
Jessups: 20,793,837
Chibs: 21,504,741 🏆
Snookles: 20,845,766 🥉
Points separating the teams:
594,828 points between Chibs and Huthiqs
64,147 points between Huthiqs and Snookles
51,929 points between Snookles and Jessups
Jessups continue to fall, gaining the least amount of daily points and slipping back down to last place as Snookles fight to overtake them. In first place in the daily points, Snookles make a miraculous effort, but it's not enough to get them back to second place, which has been dominated by Huthiqs since day 10.
Huthiqs, meanwhile, slip further behind Chibs, with 595,000 points between themselves and victory. That's 10 times the amount that Snookles would need to overtake them. It looks like Huthiqs' priority in the last stretch of the event won't be to win first place, but to avoid third.
Day 19 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 21,669,226 🥉
Jessups: 21,569,514
Chibs: 22,282,462 🏆
Snookles: 21,683,424 🥈
Points separating the teams:
599,038 points between Chibs and Snookles
14,198 points between Snookles and Huthiqs
99,712 points between Huthiqs and Jessups
Snookles continue to dominate in the daily points, gaining 60,000 more points than any of the other teams. Not only that, but they have overtaken Huthisq to steal back second place! Huthiqs, who boosted their efforts from the previous day, just couldn't try hard enough, and ended up 14,000 points behind Snookles.
Jessups are striving to climb back, but with the points between them and third place doubling overnight, they will need to rely on the efforts of all their teammates to overtake Huthiqs.
Snookles won 60,000 more points than Chibs yesterday. With 10 days left, the points between them stand at 600,000. Assuming Chibs don't have something up their sleeves, a clean, consistent effort from Snookles could see them take first place after spending so many days at the bottom. We're in the final stretch here folks, this is where winners are decided.
Day 20 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 22,420,407
Jessups: 22,426,516 🥉
Chibs: 23,071,919 🏆
Snookles: 22,466,170 🥈
Points separating the teams:
605,749 points between Chibs and Snookles
39,654 points between Snookles and Jessups
6,109 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
It's happened, for the first time Huthiqs have hit the bottom! Only 6,000 points separate them from Jessups who managed to claw their way back up to third with an amazing 857,000 points!
Chibs continue to lead with Snookles in second. The distance between them grows as it looks more and more likely Chibs will come in first place. But who will be second? Huthiqs have dominated second for most of the event but they now find themselves last, with our former underdogs in their place. Jessups have spent equal amounts of time at third and fourth place, but which will be their final result? Can Huthiqs climb back up to their rightful place? Will Snookles falter soon, or will their winning streak continue?
Day 21 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 23,126,911
Jessups: 23,241,350 🥉
Chibs: 23,794,872 🏆
Snookles: 23,247,877 🥈
Points separating the teams:
546,995 points between Chibs and Snookles
6,527 points between Snookles and Jessups
114,439 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
Huthiqs continue to struggle as they fall even further behind Jessups. And things seemed so bright at the start! It just goes to show that a solid, consistent effort is needed in this event. Sitting back and enjoying your win too early can see you knocked back two places in two days. If they don't buckle down soon and complete some challenges, all that effort that saw them hold second place for so long will be wasted!
Jessups are sneaking up on Snookles, earning first place in the daily points, but Snookles are just slightly too far ahead for now. Perhaps they can climb back up tomorrow, if they try as well as they did today!
Day 22 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 23,826,001
Jessups: 23,979,719 🥉
Chibs: 24,500,718 🏆
Snookles: 24,005,059 🥈
Points separating the teams:
495,659 points between Chibs and Snookles
25,340 points between Snookles and Jessups
153,718 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
The downfall of the once great Huthiqs carries on. Earning the least amount of daily points of the whole event, Huthiqs slip to 153,000 points behind third place. For a team who once looked like they could finish second, this is a devastating blow. Is there any chance of recovery, or have they given up already?
Jessups are just behind Snookles, yet the distance between them grows. The gap between Chibs and second place has dropped below 500,000 for the first time in a while, but this late in the competition does it mean anything? It's clear fatigue and the length of the event are taking their toll, as the teams and their scores begin to stagnate. It's interesting that between first and last place there are just 674,717 points. That's less than any team has scored in a single day. And it's twice how much points have fallen since the beginning of the competition. It wouldn't be impossible for any single team to blaze ahead. Can Snookles, or even Jessups or Huthiqs, muster up all their effort and make an eleventh-hour charge for first place?
Day 23 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 24,533,515
Jessups: 24,701,438 🥉
Chibs: 25,229,509 🏆
Snookles: 24,767,437 🥈
Points separating the teams:
462,072 points between Chibs and Snookles
65,999 points between Snookles and Jessups
167,923 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
Snookles are sneaking up on Chibs while Huthiqs and Jessups fall further behind. Huthiqs have even slightly boosted their efforts from the previous day. It isn't quite enough yet, but in the coming days perhaps they could manage to steal third place back from under the Jessups' noses.
All the teams daily points continue to drop as the month-long event takes its toll on users. 30 days is a long time to be gathering points, and it's no surprise that with a week left the daily points have dropped to a third of what they were at the begininng. People are tired. They want their points. They want to complete their challenges and collect their badges. So many people drop out when they can see they aren't winning, and the efforts of those who gather 100 challenges a day isn't always enough to sustain the team. But do not give up hope. There is still a chance for any team to take first place if they work hard and work together. There's a week left. And a week can be a very long time. If everyone on a team can endevour to do even 5 or 10 extra tasks a day, they could help see their team to victory.
Don't forget that the points reported are event points, whereas the winning team will (likely) be decided by team points. The roughly 700,000 points between Huthiqs and first place equates to around 8,000 team points. If we take a low estimate of 1,000 people per team, that's 8 extra tasks, per person, for Huthiqs to climb to first and steal the event.
Day 24 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 25,277,781
Jessups: 25,412,771 🥉
Chibs: 25,970,881 🏆
Snookles: 25,469,535 🥈
Points separating the teams:
501,346 points between Chibs and Snookles
56,764 points between Snookles and Jessups
134,990 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
A good day for Huthiqs, as they dominate the daily rankings, but they're not out of danger yet. It will take a lot more work to regain their stolen glory! Chibs are slowly gaining points, keeping just out of reach of Snookles, who came last yesterday. Have they given up? With only 56,000 points between them and Jessups, Snookles will want to pick up the pace lest they slip back down the leaderboard.
The second batch of items has been added to the event shop, for players who have gained at least 5 or 10 badges. Those Moon Rock Gumballs look strangely delicious, and I adore the Green Alien Plushie! How many will you buy?
Day 25 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 26,029,428
Jessups: 26,123,066 🥉
Chibs: 26,662,383 🏆
Snookles: 26,213,356 🥈
Points separating the teams:
449,027 points between Chibs and Snookles
90,290 points between Snookles and Jessups
93,638 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
Huthiqs' recovery continues, ever so slowly. They've claimed first place in the daily points two days in a row now, and almost halved the distance between themselves and Jessups. If they can keep this up it looks like they could manage to climb back up to third place and bag themselves some prizes!
Meanwhile, Jessups' points have more or less stagnated, allowing Snookles to get even further ahead. It looks like they've given up the fight and are content for third place! Will their complacency be their downfall?
Chibs' points are sinking while Snookles' are growing, but with 5 days left in the competition it would take a miracle on Snookles' part, or a disaster on Chibs', to affect the rankings. Who will come out on top in the end?
Day 26 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 26,766,368
Jessups: 26,788,499 🥉
Chibs: 27,418,899 🏆
Snookles: 26,961,335 🥈
Points separating the teams:
457,564 points between Chibs and Snookles
172,836 points between Snookles and Jessups
22,131 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
Jessups continue to drag behind in the daily points, gaining the least amount of daily points of the whole competition. With only 22,000 points between themselves and fourth place Huthiqs, and with 4 days left in the event, it looks ever likely that Huthiqs will manage to sneak back up to third and bag themselves some prizes! They just need to keep working hard and hope that Jessups don't wake up from their nap.
Chibs have fought back after slacking the last few days, which puts them neck and neck in the daily points with Snookles. At this point, Chibs looks dead certain for first, but it's not over yet. Could Snookles be gearing up to overtake them?
Day 27 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 27,441,941
Jessups: 27,557,207 🥉
Chibs: 28,105,415 🏆
Snookles: 27,711,866 🥈
Points separating the teams:
393,549 points between Chibs and Snookles
154,659 points between Snookles and Jessups
115,266 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
Jessups have woken up! Our long-necked friends have powered back against Huthiqs and beaten yesterday's numbers by a whopping 100,000 points! Meanwhile, Huthiqs are feeling a bit sleepy, and have dropped drastically. The points between them stand at 115,000. Not impossible to surpass in 3 days, but it will be a demanding task. Huthiqs will need to put their all in to ensure they don't end up last!
Chibs' points have also plummeted. Is there something in the water? Or is everyone just burnt out? Either way, it hasn't made a dent in the divide between themselves and Snookles. This late in the event, Chibs have certainly won, and Snookles must be resigned to second place (this is a challenge to fight back and prove me wrong, Snookles!)
Day 28 Total so far:
Huthiqs: 28,261,726
Jessups: 28,418,316 🥉
Chibs: 28,902,806 🏆
Snookles: 28,522,034 🥈
Points separating the teams:
380,772 points between Chibs and Snookles
103,718 points between Snookles and Jessups
156,590 points between Jessups and Huthiqs
The arrival of new event shop items has emboldened all the teams to complete challenges en masse, and yet it still isn't enough to affect the rankings! All the teams did so well it seems like no one did, and in the end, the winners will be dictated by only a few points.
Jessups are escaping even further away from Huthiqs, and inching ever closer to Snookles. There's 2 days left to gather points. Will Jessups be able to rise back up to second place? Will Huthiqs manage to pull themselves out of danger in time?
Day 29

You all did awful yesterday. No team scored a single point!
Just kidding! But Ian is being sneaky today, hiding the points from us, encouraging us all to do our best no matter where our team is. Today is the last day to earn points, so get cracking! Support your team by completeing as many challenges as you can! Remember, it's not over until the Obese Fairy sings!
Question: Does anyone else keep seeing phantom challenges for the next few days when these sorts of events end, or is it just me?
Day 30

IT'S OVER!
Well here we are folks. This is what all your hard work over the past month has come down to. No points again today. We won't know the true winner until Ian announces it. Which in true Ian fashion, should take about 3 weeks. The totals we have up to day 28 are (likely) event point totals, which are random on a per-challenge basis. The final result will be dictated by team points, or the number of challenges each team has completed. Although it looks set in stone now, we can't know the true winners until it's announced in the news. You never know, maybe your team won!
Even if you came last, there are often prizes for those who performed best on their own teams, and in previous years there have been consolation prizes for the losing team, and prizes for earning enough badges! If you didn't do as well as you'd like, that's ok. It's just a game, the prizes are just meaningless pixels, and whatever is going on in the rest of your life will always take precedent. There's always next year!
Don't forget that the event shop closes on 15th July. You have until then to spend your event points on as many Green Alien Plushies as your attic can hold!
Finally, thank you to everyone who has been reading this blog. It started out as a fun project for myself and then became a daily source of joy, information, and encouragement for people, and I'm grateful to anyone who has spread it or shared any kind words. I couldn't reply to all your nice messages but please know I'm extremely thankful for them! I hope I did my best to encourage everyone, regardless of team! I can't guarantee I'll be able to do this next year, but I promise if I do I'll endeavour to make it at least as entertaining as this one was!
Good luck for the final results everyone! Congratulations to everyone who has taken part, it's been fun commentating for you all <3 Now go sleep!
I do have to Thank You for this again. It was very entertaining for sure. This month long Event needed you.

Please consider making a similar blog for whenever we next have a team event. It was a super cute and fun thing to read every day <3

I still look for challenges and am afraid to do a daily for fear it'll be a challenge! I'm with you on the points! I started out on one team and ended up on the one I'm on (with you) and, as it stands, went from 1st to last!!! I tried my best to help my team. I just hope it was enough. Thank you for this bright spot! I loved your commentary. You made it fun!

Yes at the phantom challenges! Thank you for this amazing commentary blog journey!

@Peekaboo Oh, I didn't mean to imply Ian was faking anything! (I mostly agreed with Tink so I could joke about wasting my time!) I just meant what you said, we don't know how the RNG gods will treat us, and posting event points rather than team points is definitely a way to obscure the true numbers. And I'm kinda hoping the numbers are inaccurate cause I don't wanna be last

@Fax@Tinkerbel I would be amazed if Ian was posting fake scores. Imagine the outrage if he'd been misleading us this whole time. Not trying to be a downer, but just saying that scenario seems unlikely. Some people have also argued that there's RNG involved with event points and that it's really the tasks that will determine the winner. That could be true, but with a large enough sample size the RNG isn't going to be far off either. I think we can reliably depend on these scores to be very accurate.

@Tinkerbel You're probably right, but I hope not cause it'll mean I've wasted a month analysing them
