Tired of Loving

I never thought that my heart could get tired of giving and giving more. I believed with the strongest conviction that the heart, no matter how many times it gets torn and broken, that though its badly tattered with gaping holes, it would always heal itself and be able to give out more love with renewed force.

But what does one do if that special one whom you've given your special love is oblivious of your feelings and lets you witness how much he loves someone else? What does one feel if the attention you have for him went unnoticed because your attention is not just what he needs?

If 8 long years had passed and he never returned the feelings because you're not just the ONE, must you cry for another year because of him? Perhaps, I was asking for too much from him. Perhaps I just had the silliest notion that if I love one person, he must love me. Too.

It's not easy to recover from that painful interlude, for I dreamed and loved alone. But you see, there's nothing better than being able to actually face the truth squarely that there could never be US, that I must let go and move on because finally, I just got tired of loving him. The heart does get tired after all, and I just got so fed up with this feeling that as of the moment I'm making this, I have liberated myself from this stupendous love. I have forgotten that once upon a time which didn't end happily ever after....
