Circus Halloween Story Entry (;

"Stop screwing with us, Ash!" cried Rissa, tossing a pillow towards Ashleigh angrily. Ashleigh, Lauren, and Avi all laughed.
"Chill out, Rissa," giggled Ashleigh. "It's just a story, I promise." When Rissa simply continued glaring at Ashleigh, she began to speak again. "Rissa, if you REALLY want to get scared, I'll show you a really spooky place. Unless you're scared, of course."
Lauren, Avi, and Rissa all exchanged glances. They were aware that Ashleigh knew some really creepy places in the area, but she had never offered to show them before.
Rissa spoke, narrowing her eyes as she did. "I'm not scared if no one else is." When no one protested, she stood up. "Let's go then. Show us this creepy place."
With a vague smile on her face, Ashleigh stood and walked out the door without a word. With a few nervous glances at each other, the others hesitantly followed.

"Ash, come on, tell us where we're going!" Lauren whined from the backseat of Ashleigh's car. When Ashleigh didn't reply, Lauren huffed loudly and crossed her arms, going back to staring out the window.
Suddenly, Ashleigh turned onto a dirt road, with many bumps and curves. Avi looked out the window nervously, but the pitch black night revealed nothing.
Meanwhile, Rissa was also staring out the window nervously. She sat forward in her seat and peered out the windshield. Even with the headlights on, all she could see was the road directly in front of them. With an impatient sigh, she sat back and closed her eyes.
Without any warning, the car stopped. Everyone glanced at Ashleigh, wondering if she had stopped the car or if it had broken down. They appeared to be in the middle of nowhere, so both situations seemed pretty horrible. Then they watched as Ashleigh opened her car door and signalled for the others to follow. Realizing they had no other option, they followed.
By the time that Lauren, Rissa, and Avi all got out of the car, Ashleigh was fifteen feet away. Lauren cursed, and they all ran after her, wondering if their friend was crazy. As they walked, they saw a shape appearing from the darkness. Then, they realized what it was. An old circus tent. They looked around nervously, trying to ignore the eerie setting.
Ashleigh began walking towards the circus tent without the slightest hint of hestitation, and since the others had no idea where they were, they had no choice but to follow. Ashleigh pushed back a part of the tent as soon as she reached it, revealing an entrance. She ducked inside, holding the flap open for the others to enter.
As soon as Avi walked inside, she walked into a spider web. "OH MY GOD!!!!" she screamed. The others looked at her in alarm. She flailed around for several more minutes before finally freezing and staring at them. She whispered, "I hate spiders with a burning passion! I am terrified of them!" If it weren't for the eerie darkness, the others might have laughed.
Ashleigh turned away and walked towards the back of the tent. With a dismayed sigh, the others followed. Suddenly, they all lost sight of Ashleigh and halted. "Oh no," whispered Lauren, her eyes widening in fear. Rissa clutched Lauren's arm in fear.
"BOO!" screamed a voice behind them. They all whirled to see Ashleigh standing there with a huge jack-o-lantern bucket. She giggled and held it out, revealing that it was full of candy. "Come on, guys. I'm not that mean. I just brought you guys here to show you my candy stash!" She walked off, stuffing her face with candy.
"Oh my gosh," sighed Avi. "I love her to death, but she is so crazy."
