Agent
Blastomyces Dermatitidis, a fungus.
Host
Main hosts of blastomycosis are dogs, cats, and humans. Men, or males, are also more likely to get the infection.
Symptoms that can occur when you get blastomycosis include rashes, sweating, fever, joint pain, and shortness of breath. However, it is a very rare infection to get. You can also get blastomycosis in your skin.
The infection can also return multiple times. It usually attacks when the host has a weak immune system.
Environment
You can get blastomycosis from being around infected soil and or breathing it in (especially in rotting plants). Medicine is not needed unless it is severe. Blastomycosis is very similar to a disease called histoplasmosis. It is most common in North America, India, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Africa
