The 4 Smarts!

(HOME SMARTS) Home smart is basically smart ways of being safe at home. Some examples are: Alwasy check the peep hole before answering the door, don't give out personal info on the phone to anyone when home alone, when home alone before answering the door to a police, plumber, etc get a number you can call to make sure that they are suppose to be at your house.It is good to do these things because they will keep you safe and unharmed. (E.G from my life) One day in grade 6 I came home for lunch and my parents were not home. I went to the kitchen to make some food and then suddenly I heard the door bell ring. I went to the door and check the peep hole. I noticed that I did not know the persn at the door so I didn't answer it. 2 minutes later they left.

(STREET SMARTS) Street smarts is basically smart ways of being safe on the street. Some examples of street smart are: Never take shortcuts, Never risk your safety for an object, Tell your parents where your going, when you will be back, and who you are going with, you should know you name, address, and phone number, etc. It is good to do these things because they will keep you safe and unharmed.(e.g from my life) One day I went to the store with my friend, and we were trying to hurry up then run back home. We saw a short cut, but I didn't want to take it cause I wasn't sure what would happen if I did, so I suggested that we didnt and take the long way even though we were going to be late.

(SCHOOL SMARTS) Bullying is using superior strenght or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Here are some ways to stop bullying: Tell an adult you trust, Do not show any signs of weakness or fear because that might have been why you are being bullied, Stay calm and try not to show that you are upset. Try to respond to the person bullying you without anger. Anger can make things worse, etc. It is good to do these things because they will stop bullying and keep you safe. (e.g from my life) Back in the past there was this kid who everyone hated. He would always be called names and bullied. He told an adult he trusted and all of it stopped.

(INTERNET SMARTS) Internet smarts is basically smart ways of being smart when using the internet. Some ways you can be internet smart are: Dont agree to meet people on the internet without parental permission, Do not reply to mean messages, Remember everyone is not who they say they are on the internet, for all you know you could be chatting with a criminal, never give out personal info (e.g) your phone number, where you live, etc. It is good to do these things because they will keep you safe. (e.g from my life) One day I was on the internet on a game site, and someone told me they think they knew me and was wondering where I was from, I simply didnt reply back to that person and I did not give out any personal info.
