The Afterlife (part 4)

10th Aug 2010 13:23 I really enjoyed writing the story, so as she was so close to death all along, I thought I'd do one where she was dead. This is gonna be hard lolz
I woke up with a jolt, I could hear my brother's voice. It was all a dream! We were both alive! I opened my eyes and expected to be back into my room, at home. Not dead, alive. But I didn't feel alive. I felt lighter than a feather. As I opened my eyes all I could see was clouds all around me. Was I in heaven?
I looked towards my brother. He wasn't in a wheelchair! He was dead, and so was I. "Aidan?" I said, holding my hand out to him. I didn't care I was dead, I was with my little brother. I grabbed ahold of him, and started to cry. But the tears felt weightless... I couldn't cry. Either that or the air evaporated the tears as soon as they came. I looked around, blue sky, clouds, and loads of people. Heaven. I held my brother, and told him never to leave me again. I missed him so much.
Being dead was so strange. It wasn't what I suspected, no angels, I couldn't fly and even though Aidan wasn't completely solid, I couldn't go through him. When you're dead...it's weird... my senses seemed to be even better. I could taste the air on my tongue, see everything that was going on. I looked towards my brother, and smiled. Maybe that woman was a messenger. Up here... I had so much more for me.
I turned to my brother. "That woman that shot me," I paused. My brother wouldn't want me to die, surely? But still I needed to know. "Did you send her to kill me?" Aidan shook his head. I wondered why he wasn't speaking. "Aidan! Talk to me!" I shouted, and the words echoed around the sky. Aidan's speech had never been that good, but surely they would have cured that? "AIDAN!" Suddenly I heard a scream.
What was happening? Was I dreaming? I couldn't be. I knew I was dead... I could feel it. I saw my mum. She was crying, cradling and rocking herself, wanting "her baby" back. Me! And Aidan. She did love him. I had to forgive her. In fact, I missed her. Then I heard a thud and I saw my dad. DAD! I wanted to scream...but the words wouldn't come out. I was confused. I hadn't seen dad for ages...he seemed upset. "I wish I was a better father." He said, wiping away tears. Aidan was next to me, still not speaking. What's going on? I wanted to shout. But my mouth disobeyed me.
Next, I saw myself. The whole hospital scenario. It seemed so different from closed eyes. I saw my mum fighting with the nurse...telling her to do something, to save me. She was crying...her face was red. I wanted to reach out, tell her I'm still here. That I forgive her. But I couldn't. She was dragged out of the room, and I obviously died before I heard her say "good bye my darling. I love you and I will never forget you." Before she left.
The psycho-woman was next. She was in a cell, probably awaiting trial. Thank god they'd catched her. She was shaking, whispering to herself "Ei pelkoa" I had no idea what it meant. But she kept saying it over and over again. Obviously another language. She looked around her cell, and stared shouting it. I looked away, I couldn't stand to see my murderer anymore.
I could see the beautiful sky again, but I still had no idea what just happened. "We do that to all newcomers, especially murdered ones." My brother said. I looked at him.
"So you saw me?" He nodded his head. I wanted my mum. I wanted to say goodbye to my dad. I wanted to see that woman locked up, for long. They had enough evidence. "Quick question. Do we haunt people or is that just a myth?"
"You can watch over people, like you just did." Aidan said.
"What about like actually seeing them...touching them...sending out little messages?" I asked, hoping that we could. "Yeah you can, but when you go down there you have to watch out." Aidan said, turning his head away at the last words. I was puzzled. I mean, what could harm a ghost? Aidan read my thoughts and simply replied "Certain things can't kill you forever, but you can get chucked into hell." So hell was real too, eh? I simply grabbed his arm and lay on a cloud. Now, how do I get down? I thought to myself.
