One thing before I post: You may not steal, edit, or even paraphrase any part of this writing. The characters are to be used by me and me alone, until such time when this book gets published and people are making roleplays about it. The plot is also mine, and may not be used to create your own books, stories, roleplays, or whatever. Oh, and this isn't even CLOSE to being done. I just want Mara to stay updated on what I write. This blog will be updated every day, and each time a chapter is completed I will be asking for people to critique it. You may, of course, state your opinion of this at any time in between these boards if you happen to stumble across this blog. ^^

Chapter One

Everything around me was grey. I was standing on a bed of small, smooth stones, each one nearly identical to the next. The clouds had even cast a grey shadow over the trees and flowers that stood behind me, not that those had been very colorful in the first place. It was November; nearly winter. I shouldn???t be surprised at the bland colors, and yet I was. I think the thing that got me was the fact that even the ocean, the one thing that had always been blue, was a dark muddy-grey color. The only brightness in this bleak world was me. My light brown hair, much too long to be considered normal, was being whipped around by the wind. I knew a storm was coming, but I still couldn???t convince myself to move from this spot. If I went back to the city where there was shelter, I would just be laughed at again.

I felt the first drops of rain before I saw them in the water. My ears, both the same color as my hair, twitched madly to try to keep the dripping water off them. I hissed quietly, sounding very much like an angry cat. That only made sense, of course. I sounded like an angry cat because, essentially, that???s what I am. Without pausing to think, I dashed for the nearby trees, refusing to stay out in the rain any longer than I had to. It turned out to be a smart decision. As soon as I reached the shelter, which took me considerably less time than it would have a human, it started to pour. Random drops still hit the top of my head, causing me to hiss every couple of seconds.

After about five minutes of me getting soaked, I heard someone shouting my name. I laughed slightly at the urgency of my sister???s voice, and walked in the direction that the noise was coming from. It wasn???t long before I had to stop; my stupid tail ended up being tangled in a branch because I wasn???t paying attention to things at ground level. Not a smart idea when you have a cat???s tail that???s almost as long as you are tall. If you???re not careful, it gets caught on trees and bushes more often than clouds float across the sky. In other words, having this tail is really annoying. As soon as I untangled it from the branch, I made sure that the stupid tail was wrapped around my leg. It made it slightly harder to walk, but at least I wouldn???t have to stop every thirty seconds.

After stopping to untangle my tail, it didn???t take very long to find my sister. She was standing in plain sight, completely unaffected by the pouring rain where she was standing. And yes, she was on the other side of the forest from where I had been. She yells pretty loudly, I know. Well, that and cats have decent hearing. I doubt a human would???ve been able to hear her yelling my name. I grinned at her slightly, not bothering to comment on the fact that she looked angry. Getting mad at me was what kept her sane half the time, so I wasn???t going to complain about it. The response to my grin was simply a rock kicked at my face. I ducked right before it hit my nose; I didn???t want to deal with a broken bone on top of the rain.

???What???s got you so mad, Naida???? I asked casually. There was no point in getting angry at my sister for something she did impulsively. I???m not that stupid. And to think people always say that we???re exactly alike. Naida and I are about as similar in appearance as two people can be, unless they???re twins. In fact, we???ve been mistaken for twins a couple times. We both have long, sandy-brown hair and bright green eyes. Not to mention the ever-tanned skin, brown cat ears and an insanely long cat???s tail.

Yup, you're a Feebling. xD Which is kinda cool, 'cause Pheobe's awesome. And I'm going to stop talking about her before my inner-Kaze comes out and comments. xD

Oh, God. Maybe I am a Feebling.
