Avoid Getting Hacked

I found this in another site, I thought i should share it with y'all.

JUST A REMINDER: always, always, always check the address bar to make sure you are at "marapets.com"

DO NOT PM ME IF YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED. READ THE GUIDE, THAT'S WHAT IT'S HERE FOR. I WILL GIVE OUT A DONATION OF 1k IF YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED/SCAMMED, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF THAT WILL HAPPEN SINCW MARAPETS SAYS THEIR 100% SCAM FREE.

DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD (THIS INCLUDES ENTERING IT ANYWHERE EXCEPT HERE ON MARAPETS.COM). DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GIVING IT OUT. NO MATTER WHO THE PERSON CLAIMS TO BE DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD! DON'T EVER BE FOOLED BY FANCY GRAPHICS OR OFFICIAL SOUNDING USERNAMES. FOR GOSH SAKES, JUST DON'T SHARE YOUR PASSWORD EITHER- THAT'S GIVING IT OUT. DON'T TELL YOUR MOMMA, YOUR DOG, YOUR BROTHER OR EVEN YOUR BFF MADDIE.

REMINDER: Staff Members do not need your password! So whoever asks for your password, Report them!

This guide's intention is to teach you to recognize the threats and know what to do when you encounter them. It's important to remember that hackers are not preventable, but hackings are. This guide will "teach you to fish" but it's up to you to get the rod and bait and get out there on the lake. If you don't take the steps to prevent hackings, who will? This is not a job anyone else can do for you. You need to be vigilant where ever you go online, no matter what computer you use or what you're doing. Protect not only your Gaia account, but all other accounts and your personal information.

What does Being Hacked mean?

Being hacked is when another computer has looked at your private information, I don't know anything about this, But i do know is that they find your password by this. Some other people say that people who are hackers can also find out where you live. I don't know if this is true, But i'll agree anyway

What does it mean to be scammed? Or what does scamming mean?

Scamming is when a person has tricked you into going to a site, Where you are logged off marapets and you sign into another site that looks ALOT like marapets. They steal your password and your doomed. Users are always misrepresenting themselves as moderators to get your password. If you just give them your password, but are smart enough to figure out what you've done in time and change your password before your stuff starts disappearing you can report a scamming.
Scammers are mostly newbies, Sending you all kinds of scams.
There are many kinds of scams, But i think that the staff members are ready to kick em' off marapets for good!

Wow, What a scam, This is actually a pretty smart one, But don't even be fooled by this person, Don't believe this at all! Report this Maramail if you have it.

Wow, who knows where this link might be? Do not click links with out checking where they really go first (mouse over it and look in the status bar or right click it and choose properties and look at the address), NEVER enter your password any where except WWW.MARAPETS.COM!

Tips to Avoid Being Scammed.

1.do not type your username any where except the official password box when you go to log in, the trade window or the account page. [ALWAYS CHECK THE ADDRESS BAR TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT WWW.MARAPETS.COM]

2.do not give your password to friends. not even your best friend.

3. don't share accounts. this is a very bad idea.

4.do not give hints to your password. if your password is "robot" don't tell someone that your password is a machine/toy.

5.Make a secure password. do not use words in your password. The password robot is not secure, People can hack you in 30 seconds. R@b0t_ is more secure because it uses a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters [~!@#$%... etc]. a good password would be something that includes all those elements and is also at least 8 characters, the more the better.

4. Passwords.

Did you know the password daisy will take 30 seconds to hack?

Did you know the password Landr3p might take 4 days to hack?

Or that a password called "bbMRP@t31* might take 10 years+ to hack?

Not sure if these are all true, But i rather make a secure password.

5.Change your password after 3 or 4 months, Don't ever change your password too often or you'll forget it.

6. Don't sell passwords or buy passwords, Why would they need items if their gonna have your account?

Basics of Account Security.

Keep your password secret.
Don't even think about giving away your password or sharing it! Somebody may scam you, and who knows what else?

Your Password is like a diary.
Your password must be kept safe, Treat it like a diary, Your password is the key to your deepest darkest secrets, Your crushes and what you think about people!

Make your Password secure.
1.At least 8+ characters.
2.Use numbers and lower, captial letters. Like 123ABC
3.Use random words and elements > @#$Got&%for?
4.Do not COPY anybody else's passwords. Its plain wrong.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW.
1. MAKE YOUR PASSWORD SAFE AND SECURE
2. DON'T DOWNLOAD ZWINKY, VIRSUES OR ANYTHING WITH ZANGO, SMILEY CENTRAL OR WHAT OTHER FREAKY BAD DOWNLOADS.
3. DON'T TRUST STAFF MEMBERS WHO ASK F0R YOUR PASSWORD. EVEN IF YOUR BEST FRIEND MADDIE IS A STAFF MEMBER AND ASKS FOR YOUR PASSWORD.
4. Don't ever trust your dog with the password. He might bark it to some scammers for dog treats. (Same with people.)

Your account is really important, So never tell your password, even if it means not telling VERY trusted people.
I also must say, Sharing accounts isn't a good idea either
So keep your account safe.

Changing Your Personal Info.

Change your password every 3 months, and take the password guide.(In my blog)

The reason for changing your password in 3 months is that..A person might be trying to hack/figure out your password, They might get some hints about your password, There is a 60% chance they might happen to be your online friend, Thats how you get alot of hints, So its always important to change your password once in a while.
