Some comments of the games on this site

General Impression

A lot of these games seem to be copies of older or more classic games in video game history, only with a marapets redesigning. I don't really mind, because this way I have more experience to handle these types of games.

Fairy Flight

This game reminds me of Flappy bird. Similar mechanics, but oddly frustrating and addicting at the same time. I'm very bad at this game. Not sure why it's popular, but I can't stop playing it. It's so annoying, I have to keep playing this game.

Guess the Flag

Conveniently, I just take the time to look up a list of flags online, and with enough tries, I can find the country. I was worried it was going to mention in game countries, but oh well.

Toy Blocks

A seemingly casual game that is meant to test your mental flexibility. That is, your ability to shift your focus from one subject to another. The type of things you find in IQ trainers and brain testing games, but in the disguise of a game for children.

Ninja Nino

Isn't this just Fruit Ninja? But I do like the humor of references in this site. I saw the CDs. One said "Arinya Grande Hits." Other CDs were similar. I wonder if a lot of CDs are just references to musical artists I haven't heard of. I actually laughed out loud.

Space Rocks

Basically Tetris, but this game and me go years back with me entering online competitions with this. So fairly enough, I do very well with this game. I actually find gummy bricks, the more popular similar version of this game, harder. Not sure why.

Maze

I like to start at the end of the maze, then try to trace the steps back. It makes it a lot easier. Figured out this technique myself as a kid reading kids' magazines. Same thing with Wacky Workshop and Blackout. I find it helpful to find the beginning and the ending pipes for the later levels, then try to figure out the middle later on.

Chess

People would think I am good at this game, but I'm not. Though fairly enough, I'm good at getting ties or stalemates, and that still has a lot of MP to it.

Colors

Why is this Uno game so surprisingly hard? I thought this game was supposed to be easy.

Gold mine

Another visual puzzle game not exactly as popular like Tetris that I'm good at. Enough levels in, I'm honestly a bit stuck. Though you do get paid more MP the higher you go.

Code breaker

Finished the first levels in 5 or below tries, but now I'm stuck at this point. Oh well. . . I'll figure it out eventually. Helps to have taken a logic course in college, and watched videos about it in high school, with some books. Useful to be nerdy.

Pumpkin Patch

I can't seem to get used to how the head of the pumpkin man is the one that is hitting for the points rather than the pumpkin at his hand. This is . . . so confusing, but I did it.

Mother Mardo

Like the above, but a helpful factor in the game strategy is that the goal is to get all her babies out of the colored balls, not to remove all the colored balls. It also helps to just bounce stuff on the wall to reach higher ceilings of the game.

Monty's Great Escape

Crazy Taxi, but with a cute monster looking figure. I'm surprised there was a down button for this though. Couldn't get the cookies before, until I accidentally clicked the down arrow key, then I can get under the traffic signs. I also find it helpful that you can still move left to right as you jump.

Memory and Echo

Both memory games I'm fairly good at. I don't know why, but the latter game is harder even if the first seems more complicated. Maybe because I can check two cards at a time, while you only get one shot in hearing the pattern in the next one even if there's less to remember. It helps for me to give some nicknames to the cards in Memory to remember it. Like "Cyclops guy," "Ice cream guy," "Delivery Turtle guy."

The Echo game focuses on developing working memory, which is the amount of things you remember in one moment. Most people can only remember about 7 things at a time, so it helps to chunk it. That is, to split the patterns up into groups. Maybe memorize three or four fish colors at the same time, then it gets easier.

Mahjong

This is the hardest match visual game I ever played, and I'm a bit addicted to it. I don't seem that good at it, but I at least finished some medium ones. Hard levels, I have no clue.

Word Search and Word Pirate

Well, I'm glad I read a lot of books for vocabulary games. Oddly enough, I'm very horrible at the anagram sam games, less because I can't think of any words, but the words I think of aren't listed in the software's dictionary. Maybe I have to list down some common words marapets uses because it often repeats itself throughout different games. It also helps to know how to read forward and backwards, vertically, horizontally and diagonally.

Sometimes I just guess random common people names or pet names in the word pirate game, and it ends up as correct even if I barely know about all the pets on this site. Somehow it works.

Some first impressions of the game as a programmer

I don't have much to do in quarantine, and I don't want to just do computer science homework for online college through Zoom, so . . . I guess I'm here.

I guess one thing I like is how the chance games and pet dailies work. When you often do randomized luck based games in other platforms, the chances of getting anything worthwhile is much lower, but it is here, at least from the perspective of a beginner player who's only been here for 4 days. Maybe later on a few thousand MP wouldn't be worth much.

Usually in games, the software is meant to have rewards for daily visiting as an incentive for players to come everyday, or at least, very regularly. I think it does this very well in a way that both benefits the player and often by making the game more popular to whoever developed this.

I also find it fascinating the programming for leveling up in this game is from being able to accomplish specific goals, rather than collecting experience points. It really makes for a whole different gameplay, actually. I feel like this reduces a lot of repetitive grinding I dislike in games so much to gain experience, and in a way that challenges the player to try new experiences. Analyzing the players often online, I notice there are a very large amount of people stuck at level 15, and being currently in level 13, this is worrying. I wonder what would happen then.

From a story based perspective and visually, I say the characters and locations back stories are fairly creative than the usual. Usually games with low graphics like this, usually have very horrible clich?? stories, and the same types of characters are shown over and over with just different names. I feel like. . . characters are actually original at this point?

I like how MP is collected over games, rather than games with similar graphics who give you a limited amount of "energy" these days to do different things, so they can get more of your real cash in gaining more energy. This way with games, even with limited tries in a time limit, you can actually succeed by pure skill rather than just being richer than other people. This is great news for me, and I already collected some gamer items from the gaming shop to wear. Maybe if I wore this, I would give the illusion that I'm some kind of older more experienced player, har har.

I wouldn't admit to many people in real life to playing such a cute and harmless game like this, but it's so stressful these days. I need. . . something more relaxing, and less hardcore to game. That wouldn't hurt, would it?
