Mending fences...

A cowboy was mending a fence one day and with no one to keep his two children brought 'em along andhad them play to wher ehe could keep an eye on 'em. Well it wasn't too long before a fight broke out between the boy and his litle sister over who should play with a stick they'd found. The boy snatched the stick from his sister's hand and she went over by a shade tree to pout."Son do you reckon on bein' a real cowboy one day." the cowboy asked his son with one eye cocked and serious like."I sure do pa'!""The bestest one!" the boy beamed back."Well..ok,but there's one thing ya gotta learn about being a cowboy and a man first." the wrangler told the boy seriously."What's that pa?" asked the little boy eager to learn anything about bein' a 'real' cowboy. The cowboy instructed his son to come over to the fenceand help him. While the boy was focused on his task,his father told him this.
"Son the first thing a cowboy's gotta learn is how to mend fences andmend 'em proper.""That way his livestock stays put.""The more holes ya leave the more ya lose.""Ya might can afford to lose one or two,but son if they're precious to ya at all you'll keep that fence mended and the one safe too."" A real cowboy knows he's supposed to mend the fences with the folks he loves too." the poke smiled and pointed to his little sister. The boy understood and hung his head and immediately brought the stick to his sister and apologized. Even more than that he gave her a kiss on the cheek....Ain't it about time y'all done the same my friends?..
In all that you do..be a fence mender. Life's too short to stay angry.
