November 2006 was when the Trunx's Theatre mission was first released. The artwork was over 13 years old! The mission has been relaunched with brand new artwork and new Phanty Potions and Enchanted Plushies to win.




The Phanty can now wear the Lava, Leopard and Sewers Costumes. The Devil, Millionaire and Prison Phanty have been updated.

The Christmas Treasure Map has been renamed to the Ice Caves Treasure Map. The Ice Caves were first released in January 2007 and wasn't a very useful feature. It has been over 12 years since it was first released. In those 12 years, Marapets has changed a lot. We've released goals, progress goals, treasure map collections, the Native Fairy and we relaunched the Ice Caves last April making it a much more useful feature. All of these changes have meant that more and more players have wanted or needed this map. Pieces 1, 6 and 12 were always much rarer and have never been on sale with the other pieces in Treasure Map Shop. These pieces are now on sale for RP in this shop, at much, much higher prices than the other pieces.

The Crindol, Eyru, Feliz, Jessup, Sindi, Snookle, Tasi, Ushunda, Walee and Xoi can now wear the Thunder Costume.

The Arinya, Gizmo, Huthiq, Jessup, Quell, Raulf, Straya, Sybri, Tantua, Tasi, Viotto, Vixen and Zetlian can now wear the Lava Costume. Remember, the Lava Account Upgrade retires in less than a week!

We have relaunched one of the oldest games on the site. The Test Your Strength game has brand new artwork and there are new prizes to be won!

We have changed the way that future Account Upgrades are released, starting with the newest Spring Set. These are no longer called 'Gold Account Upgrades', a name which made sense 10 years ago when we still had Bronze and Silver Account Upgrades. They are now called 'Account Upgrade Sets' named after the Costume that it comes with. Each set will come with a choice of either an Enchanted Plushie or a Potion.

There is still a 1 in 3 chance you will receive a limited edition pet with each set but from now, there will be many more non-limited edition pets available as the other prize, rather than just one item. If you purchase three of the same Account Upgrade set, you are still guaranteed at least one limited edition pet. For example, if you purchased 2 Spring Sets and received a non-limited edition Enchanted Plushie or Potion for each set, the 3rd Spring Set you purchase will be guaranteed either an Enchanted Spring Lati Plushie or Spring Lati Potion. Just as before, this guarantee is only for the first three of each set you purchase.

A new Spring Account Upgrade Set has been released, with 7 new Spring themed items, a Spring Costume (retired since June 2013) and either a Spring Enchanted Plushie or Spring Potion. This set is on sale until June 30th. You can choose if you would like the main prize to be an Enchanted Spring Plushie or Potion. There is 1 in 3 chance you will receive a limited edition Lati instead of Azul, Crindol, Equilor, Fasoro or Knutt.





The Azul, Crindol, Equilor, Lati, Lorius and Straya can now wear the Spring Costume.

Lost Sock Awareness Day
Today is May 9th, which everybody knows is National Lost Sock Awareness Day. This is Shusan's Day where the whole world joins her in celebrating having matching pairs of socks! Today is the day to say good bye to all of the single socks. Now is the time to let go and move on. Clean out all of your left behind socks! Or you can complete her quests between now and May 20th and she will give a random player online a brand new matching pair of socks! There are 25 new socks and 10 other prizes to be won from this event that will all retire. She may even give you a matching pair too!

The Crindol, Doyle, Fasoro, Paffuto, Reese, Renat, Rofling, Rusty, Sindi, Troit, Ushunda, Vlad, Zoink and Zoosh can now wear the Lava Costume. Remember, the Lava Account Upgrade retires in less than two weeks!

The Echlin, Ercuw, Feliz, Gobble, Hump, Ideus, Ike, Justin, Lati, Murfin, Newth, Nino, Oglue and Osafo can now wear the Lava Costume.

We have relaunched one of the oldest games on the site. The Mystery Item game has brand new artwork and new mystery items for you to guess. You can play every day for FREE and will win 2,500MP just for entering!

If you guess correctly, you will be added to the daily list of winners. At midnight, three of these players will be picked at random to win a Time Machine Token.

The original version of this game had special items as the winning prize. These and 10 new items are now bonus prizes you may win when you enter each day.






The Time Machine Token is also on sale in the Account Upgrades Shop permanently. The token will be needed for a brand new feature, the Time Machine, that will be released in a couple of months.

We have completed all 77 different pet Potions. All of the basic colour pets now have a potion and the older items have been released or revamped. Potions with a different costume will updated gradually, so you may notice some change at random times in the future. All missions with a limited edition pet as a prize now has new potion prizes and the Potion Shop has hundreds of new items restocking. Basic colour potions for limited edition pets from Account Upgrades are complete and will be added into the Account Upgrades Shop at a later date as a special, limited, flash sale.












The Ferris Wheel in Slater Park has been updated with new artwork. We have also fixed the links to the profiles of your Minipets here, at the Resort and on the Minipets section of the home page.

We have listened to recent feedback about old, retired Treasure Maps and have changed the way they are going to be re-released. Instead of releasing them along with revamped costumes as an Account Upgrade set, they will instead all be added to the Account Upgrades Shop, starting with random pieces of the Unnecessary Perfection Instructions, Foxfire Pond Treasure Map and Kamilah Pyramid Treasure Maps. These automatically retire from the Account Upgrades Shop after 30 days and will be replaced, automatically, by 3 random, different Treasure Maps. There are 16 different maps, instructions or passes that will rotate automatically.


Never forget to complete a mission or play a game again with our new Notification system! If you visit our Free Games, Points to Play Games and Pet Dailies sections you now have the option to select which features you would like to receive reminders or notifications for.

If selected, you will be notified whenever you can play a game again, buy a newspaper or magazine again, when a pet has finished training and more! There is an option on the Missions page to be notified whenever you can start a new mission and reminded to finish one you have started. Banks also have an option to receive reminders to collect interest and your shop till has the option to be alerted every time someone buys an item from your shop.

If you do not want these notifications, you can untick all of the options to turn it all off and whenever you want a reminder for a certain feature, you can turn it on again. Please note that mission levels with less than 15 minutes remaining will have a notification on every page for all players to make sure you do not fail by mistake and this feature cannot be switched off.


The Shops page has been updated with a new layout, new icons for each different currency and a countdown until the next restock of new stock for each shop. The countdown has also been added to each shop.

Goals also has an upgraded page with more information, the Progress Goals and everything else that is possibly related to goals. If you are a high enough level, you will be given information about how many players are currently a higher level than you. There are also new random events to encourage players to complete their Progress Goals, as there will be lots more special bonuses, features and rewards in the future for higher level players.

Thousands of items that had wrong or missing information on Price Check have been updated, including all the different colours of each Minipet that now link to the Minipet Colours section.


The Mission page has new links to the Peasant Fairy and Monthly Mission Contest, more information about the Magic Carpet and Beanstalk and if a treasure map needs to be collected to use a mission, it will now tell you this.

Some of the oldest Countdown Timers around the site have been updated. There will be no more 710 Minutes! Instead it will say 11 hours and 50 minutes.

The Editorial also has had many new features, fixes and site tweaks that I have not listed here. There will also be many more answered soon.

And finally, the Quest page has a cleaner design and brand new countdown timers for each and every quest. If a quest requires a treasure map to access, this page also now tells you about it.

We're pleased to announce that our Server Maintenance was completed yesterday without any downtime and was a success. You may remember that on March 23rd we wrote in the news about the new load balancer. Back then we had hoped for it to be completed and live by March 25th but as usual, things don't always go as planned and it took an extra month of work and testing to be sure it worked correctly.

For those who would like to know more about what the changes mean, I will try to explain:

Before yesterday, Marapets had 24 different servers that load the PHP scripts and generate all of the pages that you visit around the site. Whenever you visited a page, one of these would be picked at random and you would be sent to a random one. This worked OK, but not great. Random is random and it would send too many people to one server and less to another. It also didn't know the diference between a CPU intensive page and a basic page, so some servers could be getting lots more load while others are sitting idle.

We now have 63 different servers that run our PHP scripts - nearly 3 times as much as before! And we also have a brand new, very smart Load Balancer that makes sure that each time you load a page on Marapets, you are always sent to the server which has the lowest load! You should notice that Marapets is running faster and smoother than ever before and will continue to do so at all times of the day, no matter how many players are online.

Marapets has had 100.00% uptime performance so far for the whole of 2019 and we are constantly working to make sure this remains. Thank you for all of the Account Upgrade buyers who have helped us to manage this!

Our servers are located in Canada and our players in North America currently have a slightly better experience than our players in the rest of the world. Our next planned upgrade - which we hope to manage later this year - will be to improve the speed of our network for players outside of North America.

The Photo Parlour in Lush Lake has been improved and has brand new artwork. Staff also have a new system in place now where they can upload and release new photos and plates to the site without my help. From now on, when a new pet colour or minipet is added to the site, staff will aim to have their photos and plates added to the site later the same day. There may still be times when they are added a little later that that - so it is not a guarantee - but it will still be much faster than before!

All Lava, Easter, Genie & Jinn pets will receive FREE TRAINING at the Gym and Elite Gym until May 10th.

A new Lava Account Upgrade has been released, with 8 new lava themed items and either a Lava coloured Chibs or Grint Enchanted Plushie. This AU will retire May 20th.

The 2019 Easter Egg Hunt in Candyland has just started. There are 40 new gourmet Easter Eggs hidden around the site and you have to follow the clues to find them. When you find an Easter Egg, it will be added to your Easter Basket in Candyland. Only when you find all 40 eggs can you collect them - you will receive two of each Easter Egg this year! Also, if you miss the clue, it will now be shown at your Easter Basket. Every level has a prize - for the first time this year will receive two items AND MP with each clue! The final clue will reward Account Upgrade Credit!

There is one IMPORTANT RULE - you cannot list answers or give out answers on the Forums, Blogs, MaraTalk or Club Boards, ONLY via Maramail or private MaraTalk. Anyone caught giving answers anywhere publicly on the site, or linking to websites with the answers listed on the Forums or Club Boards will be banned from taking part, will have their prizes taken away from them and will be fined up to 100,000MP.





WARNING : You are only allowed ONE account on Marapets. Anyone found to be receiving Easter Egg Hunt items from more than one account will have their account frozen for multiple account abuse.

The Easter Account Upgrade had a typo saying 1 in 4 chance when it was in fact 1 in 3. When this map was last released in 2016, in the Light Fairy AU it was 1 in 4 chance. This release it is a 1 in 3 chance. Sorry for the confusion.

The Easter Bunny is back in Marada! Decorate your profile and dress up your character for the celebrations, in pinks and golds and purples. The Easter Bunny will be visiting profiles and you may get rewarded for those who impress her. The Easter Bunny is not like Beelzebub, she is shy and easily scared away! Be nice and she will be running contests, games and giveaways on the Forums - 10 lucky winners will receive a retired Splatter Costume while others will win retired Easter Eggs and other great items! Naughty players will scare her away or receive only Carrots. There are 3 new item prizes for this year.





You do not have to have an easter/spring costume, you can dress up your doll in pinks, golds and purples, brown for a chocolate look or green colours a spring look.

If you are a younger player and you do not have access to Forums you can still take part. The Easter Bunny will visit profiles selected randomly from the Online list so make sure you are ready in case she drops by!

It's that time of year again! Don't miss the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the end of this week!

A new version of the Easter Account Upgrade has been released, with 7 new Easter themed items. The Simerian Explorer Treasure Map was last released in Account Upgrades in September 2016 and has not been avaliable since. As a special limited time, you will receive 2 or 3 random pieces of this retired map. There is a 1 in 3 chance you will receive 3 pieces instead of 2 pieces.This AU will retire May 6th.





The Ercuw, Figaro, Quell, Reese, Speiro, Straya, Zoink and Zoosh can now wear the Easter Costume. The Easter Newth has been revamped.

A new Imperial Treasure Chest is on sale at the Account Upgrades Shop. It will automatically retire May 31st. You can open this item to receive 8 different, random new items, including new clothes, wigs, footwear, minipet, gourmet food and accessories. You will not receive duplicate items inside a single treasure chest.






Can you find these new Hidden Avatars?

All Goals have been updated and improved to make it easier for you to know when you have completed a level. Whenever you complete a level of any of the different goals, you will receive an alert at the top of the page reminding you to collect your prize. Many of you may log on today and notice this alert - this basically means you completed a level days/weeks/months/years ago without realising and did not claim your prize.

We have just released Goals for the Foxfire Forest world. At every level you have a new goal to complete related to Foxfire Forest. Each level gets harder to complete but you will receive a prize for completing each level. The Foxfire Forest Goals are the last world that was still missing goals. It currently has 25 levels for you to complete.



Foxfire Forest Goals have been added to the Foxfire Forest world map and the Goals page. You also have a new profile shield for this world.

We have made major changes to the Games section of the site. The Arcade Fairy rewarded players for every single time they play a Flash Game. From now on, the counter will also increase every time you play one of our Free Games and Pay to Play Games. Each of these games will also reward you with 1 Score Point or 2 Score Points if you have the Arcade Giftbox.

There are some exceptions:
- Bingo will only reward you once per game, no matter how many tickets you purchase.
- Scratchcard games will only reward you each time you buy a Scratchcard and not when you scratch it.
- Keno will only pay Score Points if you match 8 or numbers and will not count towards your 'Games Played' total.
- Lottery will pay Score Points for every ticket you purchase but will not count towards your 'Games Played' total.
- Stock Market will reward you every time you buy new Shares.
- Raffle will pay Score Points for every ticket you purchase but will not count towards your 'Games Played' total.
- Snap will reward you every time you win.
- Plushie Machines will reward you every time you pick up a Plushie or Enchanted Plushie.

A new Puny Pyramid Giftbox and Wonky Pyramid Giftbox are on sale at the Giftbox Shop. Use this item and if you have access to these Pyramids, you will be able to visit them every 5 hours instead of 10 hours for life.

The Native Fairy now rewards you for completing all 23 different Treasure Maps.

The MP you receive from posting on the Forums has been increased from 100MP to 250MP. If you have access to MaraTalk you will now receive 50MP per post.

All Quests have been edited to make them more profitable. The system that decides what items they ask for has changed and will ask for cheaper and easier to get items now.

A new Highscore List has been added for the number of times you complete the Volcano Treasure Map.

The Plushie Fairy has new prizes avaliable now up to 3,100 Plushies collected.

The Carpenter now rewards Toy Blocks twice as often as before!
