We would like to apologise for Marapets yesterday. While we are celebrating the fact that Marapets hit a decade, yesterday was our servers reminding us of the fact that some of them are 7 or 8 years old! Our load balancer, which has been really good to us for the past 6 years and 8 months, crashed and yesterday was doing whatever it wanted, whenever it wanted. Yesterday we just had to wait it out until the DNS records updated, which can take 24 hours or longer sometimes - anyone who cannot still load Marapets should restart their router, PC and flush their DNS. We've ordered a replacement that will be set up as soon as we get it. Anyway, here is the new Moonlight Troit!

The Hair Dye Shop in Lush Lake is now restocking 79 new Eyebrow Tint items. They are the same colours as hair dye and can be added to your wardrobe to change the colour of your character's eyebrows.

We would like to apologise for the past 10-12 hours of Site Loading Issues. It was completely out of our control. Our DNS server was under attack from a spam bot and crashed. The server is really old and didn't want to boot up again. It has taken all this time to get a nice new replacement server! The attack has been blocked and we have scheduled an upgrade of our firewall and load balancer for next month to prevent it in the future.

The Undying Woods map has been revamped. This world is almost 10 years old and has hardly changed since then! Here is the new world map, and how it looked when Marapets first opened on August 15th 2004...

Our 10th Birthday Party celebrations have just started. There are many different events, giveaways and contests that will happen between now and September 15th.

King Baspinar has started his Masquerade Ball and he needs your help inviting as many online players to the fun! Visit a user's profile and hit the 'Happy Birthday' button and they will be invited to the party. Each player is different - some won't party, some will and others will have the best time ever! The respone of the character will depend on what prize you receive. You can only invite a player who is currently online and can only invite the same player once every day. Each player can only be invited once every 2 minutes. If they RSVP instantly, you will win a Party Hat or Mask you need to join the party. If they do not RSVP, you will receive MP or one of 23 new Pinatas.

Birthday Gift

Exactly 10 Years Ago to this minute, we were rushing around, testing and finishing off the final designs for pets, items and our the first world maps. I was 16, had just came back from my summer holiday in Portugal - where the pet names Azul and Feliz came from - and had just a few hours before we were opening! Over 150 people per hour were refreshing, waiting for us to open and our basic hosting was struggling to keep up with the demand!

We have just completed a major update to all Items on the site. Every single item on the site has been re-coded, fixing a lot of errors, spelling mistakes and adding useful links. When you use an item, it automatically returns you to your Inventory making everything faster and a lot easier.

Ian has changed into Daylight Kidlet and your Enchanted Daylight Kidlet Plushie has now lost its magical power

The Bakery in Candyland and the Flower Shop in Puchalla Village have been updated.

The Collections section is now complete. All 18 different collections, including pet collections have been updated. The layout and artwork for them all has improved and they have all been re-coded to load faster. The pet collections have been added to this page, allowing you to view all of your pets at once. They all also have missing lists now.

The Fishing in Jenoa has been updated. New prizes have been added and the MP pay outs have been increased. You may also pick up a new Dukka Treasure Chest that has a random Dukka Coin inside! As soon as Jenoa gets a revamp, this feature will be moving from Jenoa to Minipet Island.




The Aquarium in Jenoa has been redrawn. All previous Fish Minipets have also been revamped.

The Chibs can now wear the Fat, Plushie and Underwater Costumes.

The Marapets Account Protection Guarantee has been updated. Although it should be clear to most players, we ask you all to review the changes.

The Doyle, Kaala and Lati can now wear the Chibi Costume.



All non-restocking Shops in Marada have been re-coded. They have moved over to the new 'Shops' system recently released, allowing for better integration into the site. The main change is that you will now be awarded RP from purchases at all stores, excluding the RP shops and Dukka Coin Exchange. Another useful change is that using 'Price Checker' on any of the items in these shops will show you the price, stock level and a quick link to the shop. This means that if the Charity Shop has an item in stock, the price checker will link to this item at half price first! The Pirate Ship and Treasure Map shops have new shopkeepers too.


You can now add Lipsticks, Hair Dye, Eye and Face Makeup to your Wardrobes. They are no longer one use items, meaning that you can collect them all and change your style all the time for free. The new wardrobes make these items a lot better, as you can try on all of the different make up until you get the right look.
