Stel could only cry. She didn't want to sit out in the cold alone. The door to Jack's cabin was closed, and she could no longer hear him. She stood up and walked inside, because this might be the last time she could hear him again.

I didn't care if tears were leaking out of my face. I walked back to Jack's cabin, and just opened the door and walked right in. I didn't care if anybody looked. I just stood in the corner so I could understand.

I looked straight in Jack's face, which I hadn't done in days. The tears spilled over, and fell down my face. I let out a sob, and ran into the large tent, sitting down at the farthest end in the ring, my back facing the entrance, while I was holding my knees, cradled. Somehow, I couldn't let my mind wrap around the idea that Jack was going.
