Stel heard the eagles, still standing on the roofs with them, inquire as to why Dawn was sobbing. Stel sent back her thought. (In case you didn't know, Stel can telepathically communicate with whatever she brings alive.) She couldn't hear Dawn, but the eagles had better hearing.

I pretended to do connect-the-dots with the stars and they made a picture of a face. I looked at it for a long time, and then I started silently sobbing, remembering my mother.
