BIC// The girl headed back to her hotel, her head hung slightly, but merely because she was staring at the ground and felt that she had nothing better to do. She thought about the boy at the beach, and realized that she didn't know his name. Not that it mattered, really.
She looked up and noticed she had neared the hotel. The teenager pushed open the creaky, wooden door which tinkled slightly from the small bell hung at the door handle. The concierge at the front desk looked up hopefully, but then looked back down at the desk, his head hanging with calamity. The girl rolled her eyes and headed down the hallway to her poorly furbished room to collect her single suitcase.
She found her room and opened the door with the hotel key. Her eyes lit upon the spring bed with it's faded gray sheets; the slightly peeling, ocean green paint; the whole room in it's entirety, in fact. The girl walked over to an armchair that held a lone suitcase and picked it up. She glanced around the room one last time, making sure she didn't leave any possessions. Not that she had taken anything out of her suitcase. Sighing, the girl left the room and walked down the forlorn hall and towards the lobby. The concierge looked up as she entered the room and his brown eyes found her suitcase. Disappointment clouded his expression and he looked back down at the desk as she approached the counter. The girl handed him her room key and he took it reluctantly. She paid for her room, which, mind you, wasn't much money, and with that, she walked out of the dreary hotel.
She looked around the dusty town square and she found the dirt road. One way went to the beach, so the other path must go to the circus. The girl began to walk down the dirt road, unable to imagine what she would meet at the end.
