Maybe, instead of a special child being able to see a god/dess, maybe all GIFTED chlidren can see them. The reason why they're gifted is because they or their ancestors, before they were born, were predicted to have quality. So a certain gods give that person their descendants powers. And if their power is associated with a certain god, that's the god they can see. (EX. ivy and earth goddess, dawn [part wolf] and moon goddess, etc.)
