Dawn sat at the dock, her feet dangling down, just barely skimming the top of the water.
Inside Dawn and Alex's cabin, Alex was reading this thick novel.
Walking in the deserted town, a girl of about 19 approached the notice board. Her black hair rippled in the cool breeze that was flowing; her neck burned from the sun beating down harshly upon it. The humid air of summer labored the girl's breathing. Wiping a sheen of sweat off her brow, the teenager read the notices on the board and found the one she was looking for:
'The Circus Is In Town!
Come visit the best circus around, just go down the dirt road and through the gates.'
Farther below were dates and times for shows. Some had already passed; there were several more coming. There was one a couple days from now; the girl would have to wait. She kept reading the notices until she found one of a small hotel in the vicinity. The teenager walked towards the run-down building; it would have to do.
